Stranger In The Alps
''Stranger in the Alps'' is the debut studio album by American musician Phoebe Bridgers, released by Dead Oceans on September 22, 2017. Background and recording ''Stranger in the Alps'' was produced by Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska. Bridgers recorded the album in between tours over 2016 at Berg's studio in Brentwood, Los Angeles. The album's title is a reference to the edited-for-TV version of the film ''The Big Lebowski'', which changed Walter Sobchak's (John Goodman) line "Do you see what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass?" to "Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?" Bridgers signed a recording contract with Dead Oceans in June 2017, and the album was scheduled for release on September 22. The album received a limited edition 5th anniversary galaxy colored vinyl pressing on September 22, 2022. Phoebe Lucille Bridgers (born August 17, 1994) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She has released two solo albums, ''Stranger in the Alps'' (2017) and ''Punisher'' (2020), both of which received critical acclaim. She is also a member of Boygenius, with whom she has released one self-titled EP, and Better Oblivion Community Center, with whom she has released one self-titled album. She has received four Grammy Award nominations, including Best New Artist. Early life Phoebe Lucille Bridgers was born in Pasadena, California, on August 17, 1994. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. ''Let Me Up (I've Had Enough)'' (styled on the cover with quotation marks) is the seventh studio album by the American band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, released on 27 April 1987. It features the most songwriting collaborations between Petty and lead guitarist Mike Campbell of any Petty album. It is also the first album not to feature then-former bassist Ron Blair on any tracks. The Heartbreakers' approach when starting to work on the album in 1986 was to make it sound like a live recording. This technique contrasted with the heavy studio production on the band's previous album, ''Southern Accents'' and was influenced by touring as Bob Dylan's backing band. The Album Leaf is an American musical project founded in San Diego, California, in 1998 by Jimmy LaValle. He is known for his use of electronics, synthesizer, and Rhodes piano. His performances often feature projected visual art. Mark Kozelek
Mark Edward Kozelek (born January 24, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer, and occasional actor. He is known as the vocalist and primary recording artist of the indie folk act Sun Kil Moon and founding member of the indie rock band Red House Painters, with whom he recorded six studio albums from 1989 until 2001. Born and raised in Massillon, Ohio, Kozelek developed an interest in music as a child. Upon meeting drummer Anthony Koutsos in Atlanta, Georgia, the pair moved to San Francisco, California and formed Red House Painters alongside guitarist Gorden Mack and bass guitarist Jerry Vessel. ''Perils from the Sea'' is a collaborative studio album by American singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy LaValle, released on April 30, 2013 on Caldo Verde Records. Background and recording On September 11, 2011, Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek asked Jimmy LaValle, of The Album Leaf, to collaborate on a song, resulting in the album's opening track, "What Happened to My Brother". The two continued to work together over the next year, culminating in a finished album, ''Perils from the Sea''. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others.
