"Stormur" ( Icelandic for "Storm") is a song written and recorded by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós for their seventh studio album ''Kveikur''. It appears as the fifth track on the album. The song was released on September 9, 2013 to UK mainstream radio as a promotional single from ''Kveikur''. Usage in media "Stormur" has so far been used once in commercial media. The song was used in a commercial for the 2013 iTunes Festival, a month-long music festival which took place at The Roundhouse in London from September 2 to October 1, 2013. Sigur Rós themselves performed at the festival on September 3, 2013 as the second headline act of the festival, with the performance being streamed live worldwide, and available to replay for free on the iTunes Store. ''Kveikur'' (pronounced , ''fuse'' or ''candlewick'') is the seventh studio album from Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. It was released 12 June 2013 in Japan, on 17 June internationally, and on 18 June in the United States through XL Recordings. It is the first album to be fully released through XL after the band departed EMI and Parlophone during the label's acquisition by Universal Music Group in 2012. It is the only album since their debut, ''Von'', not to feature Kjartan Sveinsson, following his departure in 2012 (instead featured as the album's co-producer), and the last to feature drummer Orri Páll Dýrason before his departure in 2018. The cover is a photo by the Brazilian artist Lygia Clark. Composition ''Kveikur'' sees a new direction taken by Sigur Rós, both musically and thematically. Sigur Rós () is an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, active since 1994. The band comprises singer and guitarist Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm, and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and their use of bowed guitar, Sigur Rós incorporate classical and minimal aesthetic elements. Orri Páll Dýrason (; born on 4 July 1977) is an Icelandic musician. He was previously the drummer for Sigur Rós. He joined the band in 1999, shortly after the recording of the studio album ''Ágætis byrjun'', when the previous drummer, Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson, left the band. Orri has recorded five studio albums with Sigur Rós: ''( ) (album), ( )'' (2002), ''Takk...'' (2005), ''Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust'' (2008), ''Valtari'' (2012), and ''Kveikur'' (2013).
