Storekalsøy
Storekalsøy or Stora Kalsøy is an island in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies northwest of the larger island of Hundvåko and just east of the Marstein Lighthouse. The northern part of the island is very rocky and mountainous. The highest point is the tall mountain Mjuken. The smaller islands of Nautøya and Spissøya lies just east of Stora Kalsøy. The smaller islands of Horgo, Møkster, and Litla Kalsøya lie to the south of Stora Kalsøy. Virtually all the residents live along the southern and eastern coastline of the island. The main population centre of Stora Kalsøy is the village of Bakkasund where the Store-Kalsøy Chapel is located. The island had 167 inhabitants in 2001. Austevoll is a municipality and an archipelago in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Midthordland in Western Norway. The administrative centre is the village of Storebø on the island of Huftarøy. Other villages include Årland, Austevollshella, Bakkasund, Bekkjarvik, Birkeland, Haukanes, Husavik, Kolbeinsvik, Otterå, Våge, and Vinnes. The municipality consists of hundreds of islands located southwest of the city of Bergen. The municipality is considered to be among the ports in the world with the largest ocean-going fishing trawler fleet. Vestland
Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. The administrative centre of the county is the city of Bergen, where the executive and political leadership is based, but the County Governor is based in Hermansverk. The county is one of two counties in Norway that have Nynorsk as their official written language form (the others are neutral as to which form people use). Vestland was created in 2020 when the former counties of Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane (with the exception of Hornindal municipality, which became part of Volda municipality in Møre og Romsdal county) were merged. Marstein Lighthouse
Marstein Lighthouse ( no, Marstein fyrstasjon) is an active lighthouse in the municipality of Austevoll, in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the small island of Store Marstein just west of the island of Stora Kalsøy on the south side of the entrance to the Korsfjorden and therefore assists ships going to both the city of Bergen and to the Hardangerfjorden. Description The Marstein Lighthouse currently consists of a tall square, white, masonry tower with a red roof, and a single-storey service building attached. The light sits at an elevation of above sea level. It emits a white and red isophase light with a period of 4 seconds. The light has an intensity of 850,000 candela and it can be seen for about . Møkster
Møkster is an island in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies in an archipelago and it sits north of the islands of Litla Kalsøya, Stolmen, and Selbjørn; west of the islands of Drøna and Rostøya; and south of the islands of Horga, Stora Kalsøy and Hundvåko. The island had 65 inhabitants in 2001. The island lies in the central part of the Austevoll archipelago, and as such, it was an important location for the sea-faring people who populated the region. Møkster Church was located on the island from the middle ages until 1892 when it was torn down and the church was moved to the larger island of Stolmen (where it is still located today).
