August Storck KG () is a German candy producer with headquarters in Berlin, owned by Axel Oberwelland. Its subsidiary in the United Kingdom has been the company Bendicks in Winchester since 1988. The main facility of Storck in Germany is in Halle, North Rhine-Westphalia, one is located in Skanderborg, Denmark, along with one in Ohrdruf, Germany. Bendicks
Bendicks is a chocolate brand currently owned by August Storck KG, famed for its "quintessentially British" ''Bittermint'' dark mint chocolates, still made to the original recipe of 1931. History In 1930 Oscar Benson and Colonel 'Bertie' Dickson purchased a small confectionery business at 164 Church street in Kensington, London, with the chocolates made in a tiny basement below the shop. They used the first syllable of each of their surnames to come up with the name Bendicks. In 1931 Benson's sister-in-law, Lucia Benson, came up with a dark chocolate so bitter that it was virtually inedible on its own, and combined it with a mint fondant that was so strongly flavoured with mint oil that it was also difficult to eat on its own. When the two parts were combined they produced a very palatable chocolate that they named Bendicks Bittermints. The chocolate coating contains 95% cocoa solids. Riesen
Riesen (; ) (German for ''Giants'') is a confectionery of chocolate and chocolate-flavored caramel produced and distributed by August Storck KG, a German confectioner that also produces Werther's Original. In the US, the candy is individually wrapped and sold in medium, large, and club-sized bags. In the UK, the candies come loose in packs of five. Moser-Roth is a brand of German chocolate produced by Storck for Aldi. History The Moser-Roth brand name has been transferred several times to different companies. The original Roth company was founded in 1841, in Stuttgart by pastry chef Wilhelm Roth Jr. In 1876 Roth retired from the company and the small factory was taken over by Wilhelm Wagner and ''Kommerzienrat'' Sproesser. Knoppers is a brand of wafer candy bar layered with hazelnut and milk crème, produced by August Storck, first launched in West Germany in 1983. It has since been made available in over 50 countries, mainly in Europe but also Vietnam, Russia and more recently, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Toffifee (known in the United States as Toffifay) is a German brand of caramel candies, owned by the Berlin-based German company August Storck KG. Toffifee are caramel cups containing nougat, caramel and a hazelnut, topped with a chocolate button. They are sold in 4, 12, 15, 24, 30, 48 and 96 piece boxes. Campino is a variety of hard candy made by August Storck KG. It is made using a combination of yogurt and fruits which have varied since the product's launch in 1966. Up until 2007 only two varieties were available; strawberry and summer fruits (a mixed bag of raspberry, blackcurrant, and peach), however strawberry, cherry, and peach are also available.
