Steven King (footballer)
Steven King (born 22 November 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is currently serving as Senior Assistant Coach at the Gold Coast Suns, Gold Coast Suns Football Club. AFL career Geelong Debuting as a 17-year-old with Geelong in 1996, King was a gifted Ruckman (Australian rules football position), ruckman. He won All-Australian selection and won the Carji Greeves Medal in 2000 and again in 2002. He was captain of the club between 2003 and 2006. In 2005, King was hit by numerous injuries, which affected his form. A moment of controversy occurred in King's career in the 2005 AFL Finals Series, 2005 Elimination Final, when he accidentally kicked Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne's Jeff White (Australian footballer), Jeff White in the head. Shepparton
Shepparton () ( Yortayorta: ''Kanny-goopna'') is a city located on the floodplain of the Goulburn River in northern Victoria, Australia, approximately north-northeast of Melbourne. 2009 AFL Grand Final
The 2009 AFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the St Kilda Football Club and the Geelong Football Club at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 26 September 2009. It was the 113th annual grand final of the Australian Football League (formerly the Victorian Football League), staged to determine the premiers for the 2009 AFL season. The match, attended by 99,251 spectators, was won by Geelong by a margin of 12 points, marking the club's eighth VFL/AFL premiership victory. 2009 AFL Season
The 2009 AFL season was the 113th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The 2008 NAB Cup was the Australian Football League pre-season competition played in its entirety before the Australian Football League's 2008 season began. Charlie Gardiner (Australian Footballer)
Charles Gardiner (born 1 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer for Geelong and St Kilda in the Australian Football League. Career Gardiner was recruited from the Sandringham Zebras and was pick no. 23 by Geelong in the 2001 National Draft. Gardiner was in the TAC Cup Team of the Year and Under-18 All-Australian Team in 2001. Gardiner was also runners up in Sandringham's best & fairest and Under-18 Victoria Metro representative in 2001. In 2002 Gardiner debuted for Geelong's senior side later the same year. Gardiner was traded to St Kilda Football Club during the 2007 trade week, along with fellow Cats player Steven King for St Kilda's draft selection 90. Mark Blake (born 9 September 1985) is a former Australian rules footballer for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A tap ruckman, tall and weighing , Blake played 99 games for Geelong between 2005 and 2010, including the 2009 AFL Premiership. Brad Ottens (born 25 January 1980) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
