2007 AFL Draft
The 2007 Australian Football League draft consisted of four opportunities for player acquisitions during the 2007/08 Australian Football League off-season. These were trade week, the national draft, which was held on 24 November 2007, the pre-season draft and the rookie draft. Player movements Trades 2007 was the first year that clubs were allowed to trade picks without the trade involving a player. Jordan McMahon
Jordan McMahon (born 27 May 1983) is an Australian rules football player. McMahon, a native South Australian, was drafted from South Australian National Football League (SANFL) club Glenelg in the 2000 AFL draft as a first round selection (10th overall) by the Western Bulldogs. Playing as a running defender, McMahon had seven seasons at the Western Bulldogs, debuting in 2001 for four games. He began to establish himself in the Bulldogs defence with 15 games in 2002, including every game from Round 14–22. He was awarded an AFL Rising Star Nomination for his 25 possession game against the West Coast Eagles in round 18, 2002. McMahon played 18 games in 2003 and established himself as an important member of the Bulldogs' defence, being assigned dangerous small forwards and providing run and rebound. Jonathan Hay (footballer)
Jonathan Hay (born 13 August 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Hay began his football career at Kalgoorlie Catholic Primary School and John Paul College before moving to Perth, Western Australia, Perth in 1991. Hay played reserves football for East Fremantle Football Club in 1996 before being drafted by Hawthorn Football Club at the 1996 AFL Draft, 1996 national AFL draft. Richard Hadley
Richard Hadley (born 29 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Carlton in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hadley was recruited from the East Fremantle Football Club junior system in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL) to the Brisbane Lions in the 2000 AFL Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2001. While suffering from osteitis pubis, he spent the 2001, 2002 and 2003 seasons as a prolific ball-winner player in the Lions' reserves team. After a long wait, he was finally recalled to the Lions lineup in the 2003 finals series, and in his fourth senior game of AFL football, he was part of Brisbane's premiership side. Sam Power
Sam Power (born 2 July 1983) is an Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Power started his career at the Western Bulldogs. The Bulldogs selected him in the 2001 AFL Draft, with their first round selection, number 10 overall. Power made his debut in 2002, playing six games, and amassed 84 games in total over five years with the Bulldogs. After being unable to hold a consistent senior spot in the 2007 season, Power requested a trade. North Melbourne expressed interest and traded their draft pick number 48 in the 2007 AFL Draft in return for Power. Benjamin Davies (footballer)
Benjamin "Ben" Davies (born 10 February 1986) is an Australian rules footballer. From Williamstown, Davies played in the TAC Cup for the Western Jets. His courageous ability as an in-and-under player got his name on the list, and was drafted as a rookie by Collingwood in late 2004. His skills were ordinary, but Davies earned an unexpected promotion early on in the season for injured skipper Nathan Buckley who would be put on the long-term injury list. Tim Callan
Timothy Callan (born 6 January 1984) is a former Australian rules football player for the Western Bulldogs, and the Geelong Football Club. He is the son of former Geelong player, Terry Callan. Career Geelong Callan was selected by Geelong in the 2002 AFL Draft, under the father-son rule. A small/medium-sized defender, Callan is renowned for his consistent displays of courage and bravery during the game, often backing into packs for marks or spoils. Although he has proven himself as one of the better players for the club's VFL side for numerous seasons, he has struggled to get consistent games in the senior side for the Cats. Ben Hudson
Ben Hudson (born 24 February 1979) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane Lions and Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He has served as the defensive skills, ruck and forwards coach at the Brisbane Lions since September 2014. Charlie Gardiner (Australian Footballer)
Charles Gardiner (born 1 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer for Geelong and St Kilda in the Australian Football League. Career Gardiner was recruited from the Sandringham Zebras and was pick no. 23 by Geelong in the 2001 National Draft. Gardiner was in the TAC Cup Team of the Year and Under-18 All-Australian Team in 2001. Gardiner was also runners up in Sandringham's best & fairest and Under-18 Victoria Metro representative in 2001. In 2002 Gardiner debuted for Geelong's senior side later the same year. Steven King (footballer)
Steven King (born 22 November 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is currently serving as Senior Assistant Coach at the Gold Coast Suns, Gold Coast Suns Football Club. AFL career Geelong Debuting as a 17-year-old with Geelong in 1996, King was a gifted Ruckman (Australian rules football position), ruckman. Mitch Morton
Mitchell Morton (born 28 January 1987) is a former Australian rules football player who last played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Morton was initially drafted by the West Coast Eagles under the father–son rule as he is the son of Noel Morton, who played 171 WAFL games for Claremont. At the end of the 2007 season, West Coast traded Morton to Richmond for the number 35 draft pick in the 2007 AFL draft. Morton was prominent and vital member of the Tigers squad, winning the Michael Roach medal as the leading goal kicker for the club this season (2009) with 41 goals.
