Stavros Michalakakos
Stavros Michalakakos (in Greek Σταύρος Μιχαλακάκος) (born 9 April 1987) is a Greek Cypriot singer. On 12 February 2010 he won the second season of the Greek version of the television singing competition ''The X Factor''. He was awarded a recording contract and a car. Michalakakos is the second Cypriot to have won the Greek competition, after Loukas Giorkas won the first season. Michalakakos' debut single, "Vres To Nisi" (Find the Island), a Greek-language cover of the 1979 Nick Lowe single "Cruel to Be Kind "Cruel to Be Kind" is a song by Nick Lowe, co-written by Lowe and his former Brinsley Schwarz bandmate Ian Gomm. Loukas Yorkas () born in Aradippou, Cyprus, on 18 October 1986, is a Greek Cypriots, Cypriot singer and the winner of the first season of the Greek version of the television talent series ''The X Factor (Greece), The X Factor''. In September 2009 he released his first EP album, ''Mazi'', which attained gold certification. He studies Biology at the University of Patras. Loukas Yorkas represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany along with Stereo Mike, with the song "Watch My Dance", placing seventh with 120 points. Haris Antoniou
Harry Antoniou (Greek: Χάρης Αντωνίου; born 9 March 1989) is a Greek Cypriot singer and musician. On 11 February 2011 he won the third season of the Greek version of the television singing competition The X Factor after singing Joe Cocker’s "You Are So Beautiful". He was awarded a two-year contract with Sony Music Greece. Harry Antoniou (at times Charis "Haris" Antoniou) is the third Cypriot to have won the Greek competition, after Loukas Giorkas won in the first season and Stavros Michalakakos in the second season. He started saxophone lessons and at the age of 15, came third in the Pancyprian saxophone competition. Working in his teens as a singer and saxophonist, he was able to attract more and more people creating its own fan club from a young age before applying to the Greek X-Factor. "Cruel to Be Kind" is a song by Nick Lowe, co-written by Lowe and his former Brinsley Schwarz bandmate Ian Gomm. Written by Lowe and Gomm while the pair were in Brinsley Schwarz, the song was saved on a demo until Columbia Records convinced Lowe to release it. Musically, the song was inspired by "The Love I Lost" by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, an influence reflected in more recent performances of the song. Released as a single in 1979, the song peaked at number 12 in Australia, Canada, the UK and US charts. In the US, where it is one of Lowe's most well-known works, it remains his only single to hit the top 40, whereas in the UK "I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass" remains his biggest hit having reached number 7 a year earlier. The first series of the music talent show The X Factor Greece began airing on ANT1 on 4 October 2008 and was won by Loukas Giorkas on 30 January 2009. The show was presented by Sakis Rouvas. It was also broadcast abroad via ANT1's international stations. Selection process Auditions Public auditions by aspiring pop singers began in July 2008 and concluded in September 2008. ''The X Factor'' is the Greek version of ''The X Factor'', a show originating in the United Kingdom. It is a television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. Auditions are held in Greece in the cities of Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as in Cyprus in the city of Nicosia. Auditions for the third X Factor were also held in New York City.
