Stanisław Tkocz (1936-2016) was an international speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Tkocz reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on two occasions in the 1961 Individual Speedway World Championship and the 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship. He was a two times Polish champion after he won gold at the Polish Individual Speedway Championship in 1958 and 1965. Rybnik (Polish pronunciation: ; szl, Rybńik) is a city in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, around 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Katowice, the region's capital, and around 19 km (11 miles) from the Czech border. Andrzej Pogorzelski (12 October 1938 – 16 October 2020) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider and coach. Career He started his career in Unia Leszno and represented the club in 1956 and 1973-1976 seasons. While at Unia Leszno he won 2 bronze medals (1975, 1976) on Team Speedway Polish Championship. During the 1957-1961 seasons he rode in Start Gniezno and moved to Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski in winter 1962. While in Stal he won 1 gold (1969) and 5 silver (1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1971) medals in Team Speedway Polish Championship. During riding for Stal he held double record of the track in Gorzow Wielkopolski in seasons 1964 (76.4 sec - 18/10/1964) and 1969 (73.3 sec - 18/05/1969). Ernst-Happel-Stadion (), known as Praterstadion until 1992, sometimes also called Wiener-Stadion, is a football stadium in Leopoldstadt, the 2nd district of Austria's capital Vienna. Speedway career Kapała reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1961 Individual Speedway World Championship. Mieczysław Połukard
Mieczysław Połukard (1930 in Warsaw, Poland – 26 October 1985 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider and coach, the first Polish rider to ride in the Individual World Championship Final in 1959 and won the World Team Cup in 1961. Career He began his racing career with Sparta Wrocław. In 1955 he moved to Polonia Bydgoszcz. He was the first Polish rider to ride in the Individual World Championship Final (1959) where he finished 12th with 5 points. He also represented Poland in the World Team Cup three times, in 1960 (4th place), 1961 (gold medal) and 1962 (bronze medal). He was Individual Polish Champion once in 1954. He also rode in Golden Helmet Finals, but he never finished high enough to win a medal. Accident In 1968 he decided to retire.
