Standard Design
Tom Pappalardo (born 1973) is an Easthampton, Massachusetts graphic designer, author, illustrator, and musician. He designed the Easthampton mural in the Easthampton, Massachusetts Cottage Street Cultural District, dedicated in June, 2008. Pappalardo and R. Sturgis Cunningham perform as the guitar-drum duo The Demographic. He has published an illustrated novel, a collection of comics, and an illustrated collection of essays. His 1996 comic "Alec Dear" (illustrated by Matt Smith) received a Xeric grant. Haverhill, Massachusetts
Haverhill ( ) is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. Haverhill is located 35 miles north of Boston on the New Hampshire border and about 17 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The population was 67,787 at the 2020 United States Census. Located on the Merrimack River, Haverhill began as a farming community of Puritans, largely from Newbury Plantation. The land was officially purchased from the Pentuckets on November 15, 1642 (One year after incorporation) for three pounds, and ten shillings. Pentucket was renamed Haverhill (after the Ward family's hometown in England) and evolved into an important industrial center, beginning with sawmills and gristmills run by water power. In the 18th and 19th century, Haverhill developed woolen mills, tanneries, shipping and shipbuilding. The town was home to a significant shoe-making industry for many decades. A graphic designer is a professional within the graphic design and graphic arts industry who assembles together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design. Easthampton, Massachusetts
Easthampton is a city in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The city is on the southeastern edge of the Pioneer Valley near the five colleges in the college towns of Northampton and Amherst. The population was 16,211 at the 2020 census. History Easthampton was first settled by European immigrants beginning in 1664 and was originally part of Northampton. In 1785, Easthampton was established as a "district" by Massachusetts (a former type of political entity with less independence than a town), and in 1809, it was incorporated as a town. Matt Smith is an illustrator based in Cambridge, Massachusetts who is best known for his work in such children's magazines as ''Cricket'', '' Highlights for Children'', and '' Muse'', as well as the graphic novel edition of Kate DiCamillo's '' The Tale of Despereaux''. Xeric Foundation
The Xeric Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation based in Northampton, Massachusetts, which for twenty years awarded self-publishing grants to comic book creators, as well as qualified charitable and nonprofit organizations. The Xeric Foundation was established by Peter Laird, co-creator of the ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles''. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands.
