Stand Your Ground (Mike Tramp Album)
''Stand Your Ground'' is the sixth solo album (and second under the banner of 'Mike Tramp & The Rock 'N' Roll Circuz') by former Freak of Nature and current White Lion lead singer, Mike Tramp. Background and recording Released on 28 March 2011, the album was recorded virtually live in Medley Studios in Copenhagen, and co-produced by Søren Andersen and Mike Tramp. It was mixed by Jacob Hansen, known for his work with bands such as Volbeat, Surfact and others. Release and promotion The track, "Distance", was released as the first single from the album, which also featured a promo video. The Danish release of the album contains the bonus track, "Hymn to Ronnie" (also released as a single), which is a tribute to Ronnie James Dio, who died the previous year on 16 May 2010. Michael Trempenau (born 14 January 1961), better known as Mike Tramp, is a Danish singer best known for his work with the glam metal band White Lion. Since 1998, he has also released several solo albums. In 2012, Tramp went on a solo acoustic tour releasing acoustic albums in both 2013 and 2014. He returned with a full band lineup in 2015 and in 2017, released the album '' Maybe Tomorrow'', which charted at number 1 in Denmark. Biography 1976–1982: Early years Trempenau was born and raised in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, with his mother, Doris, and two brothers, Dennis and Kim. He started his musical career singing in Vesterbro Ungdomsgård, a youth group club in Copenhagen, and appears on their first album: ''Vi lever på Vesterbro'' (1974). Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Arena rock (also known as AOR, melodic rock, stadium rock, anthem rock, pomp rock, corporate rock and dad rock; ; ) is a style of rock music that originated in the mid-1970s. ''Mike Tramp & The Rock 'N' Roll Circuz'' is a studio album by former Freak of Nature and current White Lion lead vocalist Mike Tramp, released on 5 October 2009. The album is Tramp's fifth solo album and the first since 2004's '' Songs I Left Behind''. Background and recording Following the release of ''Return of the Pride'' in 2008 which was White Lion's first original studio album in 16 years, Tramp faced a tumultuous time of professional indecision as he tried to decide between continuing his solo career or pouring his energy into White Lion. The album was initially intended to be the next new White Lion album but a new solo band was formed instead. ''Cobblestone Street'' is the seventh solo album by former White Lion and Freak of Nature lead singer, Mike Tramp, released April 8, 2013. Background and recording Following a successful acoustic tour of Europe in 2012, Tramp recorded the new acoustic folk style rock album at Medley Studio, Copenhagen-Denmark in the summer of 2012, with his good friend engineer/Co-producer and multi-instrumentalist Soren Andersen. Originally, the plan was to release it as double album, but Tramp later changed his mind. Release and promotion The album charted at Denmark's official top 40 hitlist albums' at number 21 and features the first single "New Day" which was released on February 18, 2013. Freak Of Nature (band)
Freak of Nature was an American hard rock band, formed in 1992 by former White Lion lead singer Mike Tramp. The band was formed after White Lion broke up and the follow up was significantly darker and harder than White Lion. The band released three albums and then disbanded in 1996. Following Freak of Nature, Mike Tramp released several solo albums and also reformed White Lion with a new line up. Band history Formation In September 1991, just days after White Lion played their last gig, Mike Tramp met up with long-time friend Oliver Steffensen who was an original member of the pre White Lion band "Danish Lions". White Lion
The white lion is a rare color mutation of the lion, specifically the Southern African lion. White lions in the area of Timbavati are thought to have been indigenous to the Timbavati region of South Africa for centuries, although the earliest recorded sighting in this region was in 1938. White lions first became known to the English-speaking world in 1977 through the book ''The White Lions of Timbavati''. Description White lions are not albinos. Their white color is caused by a recessive trait, called leucism, derived from a less-severe mutation in the same gene that causes albinism, similar to the gene responsible for white tigers. Surfact
Surfact were a Danish rock band formed in 2003. They first got noticed in 2006 when they won the Starfighters competition, and subsequently released their debut album ''Terrific Downfall''. Although they didn't break through commercially until 2009 when they released their second album ''Euphoria'', which spawned the hit singles "Absolutely Shameless" and "All Night Overload". The band toured both Europe and the United States, but are mostly known in Scandinavia. On May 12, 2014, the band announced on their Facebook page that they had played their last show and would not be continuing as a band. Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010), known professionally as Ronnie James Dio, was an American heavy metal singer. He fronted and founded numerous bands throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. Though his parents were from Cortland, New York, Dio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where his family resided for his father's service in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family returned to Cortland when Dio was very young, and he lived there until graduating high school in 1960. Dio's music career began in 1957 as part of the Vegas Kings (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). In 1967, he formed the rock band Elf, which became a regular opening act for Deep Purple.
