Stan Kushner
Stanley A. Kushner (born December 5, 1946) is a former politician and current real estate agent in Alberta, Canada. Political career Stan Kushner was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1979 Alberta general election and held the district for one for the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta as a back bench member in the assembly before leaving politics. Stan served on numerous committees of the Alberta Legislature while in office. Kushner was formerly the Broker, General Manager and Owner of MaxWell Capital Realty, a large successful multi office real estate agency in Calgary, Alberta. The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is the deliberative assembly of the province of Alberta, Canada. It sits in the Alberta Legislature Building in Edmonton. The Legislative Assembly currently has 87 members, elected first past the post from single-member electoral districts. Calgary-Mountain View is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district was created in 1971 and is currently represented by Kathleen Ganley of the Alberta New Democratic Party. John Kushner
John Kushner (June 22, 1923 – March 2, 1984) was a Canadian federal and provincial level politician. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1975 to 1979 and then served as a Member of Parliament from 1979 until his death in 1984. He sat with the Progressive Conservative caucus on both the provincial and federal level. Early life John Kushner was born in Poland on June 22, 1923. Prior to his political career he worked as a security officer. Afgter coming to Alberta he got a job with the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Bohdan "Bud" Zip (March 5, 1929 – April 19, 2017) was a politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1982 to 1986. The Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta (often referred to colloquially as Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta) was a provincial centre-right party in the Canadian province of Alberta that existed from 1905 to 2020. 1979 Alberta General Election
The 1979 Alberta general election was held on March 14, 1979, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, which had been expanded to 79 seats. The Progressive Conservative Party of Peter Lougheed won its third consecutive term in government. During the campaign, some Progressive Conservatives spoke of winning "79 in '79", i.e., all 79 seats in the legislature. This harkened back to Social Credit's unofficial slogan from the 1963 election, "63 in '63". The Tories came up short of this goal, and actually lost over five percentage points of the popular vote. Nonetheless, they still won an overwhelming majority, with 74 seats. Social Credit held on to the four seats they had won in the 1975 election, and formed the official opposition in the legislature.
