Springfield railway line is a suburban railway line in Brisbane, Australia that branches from the Ipswich/Rosewood line after Darra railway station. Construction of the line started on , and it opened on 2 December 2013. The line was developed along with the widening of the nearby Centenary Motorway. The line speed is rated for speeds of up to in most sections. However, only the interurban multiple unit 100 and 120 series and New Generation Rollingstock trains can run at the full speed of the line. The current timetable is based on a top speed of between Richlands and Springfield stations, which is faster than the Centenary Motorway that runs alongside. Services on this line are the busiest on the Brisbane network. Richlands Railway Station
Richlands railway station is located on the Springfield line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Richlands. History Richlands opened on 17 January 2011 as the terminus of what was then the Richlands Line. The line has since been extended to Springfield Central. The station multi-storey car park has 650 car parking spaces for vehicles. Construction and opening Construction started on the station on 1 July 2008. The planning included about 650 car parks, a bus interchange, bicycle lockers and a drop-off area. The station was due to open on 23 January 2011 with no services due to scheduled maintenance works on the Ipswich line, but due to the Queensland floods the opening was brought forward to 17 January 2011 in order to assist with the recovery efforts. The Cleveland railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Following the opening of the Wooloongabba Branch railway line from Corinda to Stanley Street in South Brisbane in 1884, calls were made for extending the line to Cleveland to serve the developing farming area. A line was surveyed, and took an indirect route to avoid hilly country and to serve Fort Lytton, a gun emplacement at the south entrance to the Brisbane River, then the major defence installation for the city. The Gold Coast railway line is an interurban railway line operated by Queensland Rail in Queensland, Australia, connecting Brisbane with the Gold Coast. Beenleigh Railway Line
The Beenleigh railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane Central railway station, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History Originally known as the Logan railway line, the line opened to Loganlea in April 1885 being the first section of the South Coast line which was opened beyond Beenleigh to Southport in 1889. The original city terminus of the line was Stanley St, South Brisbane until a dual track line was constructed from Dutton Park to South Brisbane opposite the Victoria Bridge opening in 1891.
