Centenary Motorway
The M5 (Centenary Motorway) is a motorway in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. It starts as a two-lane arterial road at Yamanto, travelling to Springfield, where it becomes a two-lane highway and travels across the M2 Logan Motorway at Ellen Grove (formerly Metroad 4 / M4) and ends at Kenmore where it changes its name to the M5 Western Freeway. It features eight interchanges, the major ones being with the M7 Ipswich Motorway (formerly Metroad 2 / M2) in Darra and another at Sinnamon Park. The Centenary Freeway links traffic from the west to the north of Brisbane. History On 11 November 1879, the Yeerongpilly Division was created as one of 74 divisions within Queensland under the ''Divisional Boards Act 1879''. On 16 October 1886, parts of Yeerongpilly Division were excised to create Stephens Division (later Shire of Stephens). Corals are marine invertebrates within the class Anthozoa of the phylum Cnidaria. They typically form compact colonies of many identical individual polyps. Coral species include the important reef builders that inhabit tropical oceans and secrete calcium carbonate to form a hard skeleton. A coral "group" is a colony of very many genetically identical polyps. Each polyp is a sac-like animal typically only a few millimeters in diameter and a few centimeters in height. Moreton Bay
Moreton Bay is a bay located on the eastern coast of Australia from central Brisbane, Queensland. It is one of Queensland's most important coastal resources. The waters of Moreton Bay are a popular destination for recreational anglers and are used by commercial operators who provide seafood to market. The Port of Brisbane coordinates large traffic along the shipping channel which crosses the northern section of the bay. The bay serves as a safe approach to the airport and reduces noise pollution over the city to the west of the runway. A number of barge, ferry and water-taxi services also travel over the bay. Queensland Cement and Lime Company (QCL) was a company that manufactured cement and lime for use in construction in Queensland, Australia. It supplied many major projects in Queensland. It was also known as Queensland Cement Limited. History The company was established in 1914, operating a cement factory at Station Road (now Station Avenue), Darra in Brisbane (). From 1916, it obtained limestone from Gore on the Darling Downs. In the early 1930s, it built Oxley Wharf on the Brisbane River at Seventeen Mile Rocks (). The company had a dredge at Mud Island in Moreton Bay from where they obtained coral, which was then transported up the river to the wharf from where it was conveyed via the company's private road to the Darra factory.
