Spotlight Kid (band)
Spotlight Kid are an English, Nottingham-based shoegaze band, whose original line-up was Six By Seven drummer Chris Davis on drums, Rob McCleary & Katty Heath (formerly of Bent) on vocals, Karl Skivington on mouth organ, Chris Moore on guitars and Matt Holt on bass. The band takes its name from the 1972 album '' The Spotlight Kid'' by American musician, singer-songwriter and artist Captain Beefheart. History Their first album, ''Departure'', was released on Club AC30 in 2006. In 2009, Spotlight Kid released ''Crystal Dreams'', a four track EP, on Two & One Records. In 2010, they followed this with a limited edition 7" vinyl double A-side "April/All Is Real" on Club AC30. The latest album, ''Disaster Tourist'', was released in September 2011 in the UK, with an expanded release for the rest of the world in November 2012. Swervedriver
Swervedriver are an English alternative rock band formed in Oxford in 1989 around core members Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge. Between 1989 and 1998, the band released four studio albums and numerous EPs and singles despite a considerable flux of members, managers, and record labels. By 1993 the band's lineup had settled with Franklin on vocals/guitar, Hartridge on guitar, Jez Hindmarsh on drums, and Steve George on bass. They had emerged with a heavier rock sound than their shoegaze contemporaries, and over the next five years it evolved to include elements of psychedelia, classic pop, and indie rock. Lush were an English rock band formed in London in 1987. The original line-up consisted of Miki Berenyi (vocals, guitar), Emma Anderson (vocals, guitar), Steve Rippon (bass guitar) and Chris Acland (drums). Phil King replaced Rippon in 1991. Emily Eavis
Emily Rose Eavis (born July 1979) is co-organiser of the annual Glastonbury Festival, and the youngest daughter of the festival's founder and organiser Michael Eavis and his second wife Jean. Early life Eavis grew up on Worthy Farm, Somerset, the site of the Glastonbury Festival. In 1985, at age five, she performed Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on the Festival's Pyramid Stage immediately before The Style Council headlined. After leaving Wells Cathedral School in 1997, she began a teaching degree at Goldsmiths University, London.
