Emily Eavis
Emily Rose Eavis (born July 1979) is co-organiser of the annual Glastonbury Festival, and the youngest daughter of the festival's founder and organiser Michael Eavis and his second wife Jean. Early life Eavis grew up on Worthy Farm, Somerset, the site of the Glastonbury Festival. In 1985, at age five, she performed Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on the Festival's Pyramid Stage immediately before The Style Council headlined. After leaving Wells Cathedral School in 1997, she began a teaching degree at Goldsmiths University, London. When her mother became ill with cancer, Eavis deferred her course and returned home to care for her. Syrian National Orchestra For Arabic Music
The Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music was a Syrian orchestra dedicated to the performance of classical Arabic music, as well as experimental work based on traditional music from the Middle East. The orchestra played regular concerts in the Damascus Opera House since its opening in 2004. Due to the ongoing Syrian civil war, most of its members, like its principal conductor and oud virtuoso Issam Rafea, or Moslem Rahal, a notable ney player, have left Syria for exile in Europe, the US or other countries. Guest artists with British band Gorillaz and award-winning film score The Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music became known internationally for collaborating with British virtual band Gorillaz on their ''Plastic Beach'' album track "White Flag". Baaba Maal ( ff, 𞤄𞤢𞥄𞤦𞤢 𞤃𞤢𞥄𞤤, italics=no, born 13 June 1953) is a Senegalese singer and guitarist born in Podor, on the Senegal River. In addition to acoustic guitar, he also plays percussion. Songhoy Blues is a desert blues music group from Timbuktu, Mali. The band was formed in Bamako after being forced to leave their homes during the civil conflict and the imposition of Sharia law. The band released its debut album, ''Music in Exile'', via Transgressive Records on February 23, 2015, while Julian Casablancas' Cult Records partnered with Atlantic Records to release the album in North America in March 2015. Bassekou Kouyaté (born 1966) is a musician from Mali. His band is known as Ngoni ba. Amadou & Mariam
Amadou & Mariam are a musical duo from Mali, composed of the Bamako-born couple Amadou Bagayoko (guitar and vocals) (born 24 October 1954) and Mariam Doumbia (vocals) (born 15 April 1958). Their album '' Welcome To Mali'' (2008) was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album. Amadou lost his vision at the age of 16, while Mariam became blind at age 5 as a consequence of untreated measles. Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Foo Fighters was initially formed as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Electric Light Orchestra
The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1970 by songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood with drummer Bev Bevan. Their music is characterised by a fusion of pop, classical arrangements and futuristic iconography. After Wood's departure in 1972, Lynne became the band's sole leader, arranging and producing every album while writing nearly all of their original material.
