The National Stadium of Peru is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru. Its current capacity is 40,086 seats as stated by the Peruvian Football Federation without the lodges for some thousands more. The Liga 2 (Ligue 2) of Peru is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. It is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. After years of changing numbers of clubs, as of 2021 the league includes 12 clubs. History The format of the Second Division has changed over the years. San Borja District
San Borja is a district of the Lima Province in Peru, and one of the upscale districts that comprise the city of Lima. Originally part of the district of Surquillo and San Isidro, it became officially established as a separate district on June 1, 1983. The new district took its name from a former ''hacienda'' ( estate) which dominated the area. The district's postal code is 41. The current mayor ( alcalde) is Alberto Tejada. San Borja, is a quiet setting, where it is pleasant to live, it is classified within the top 5 of best places to live in Lima by many means. San Borja is one of the few districts of Lima which was planned from the beginning and developed in an orderly fashion. The 1987 Torneo Descentralizado, the top tier of Peruvian football (soccer), was played by 30 teams. The season started in 1987 and ended in early 1988. The national champion was Universitario . The national championship was divided into two tournaments, the Regional Tournament and the Descentralized Tournament. The winners of each tournament faced off in the final and received the berths for the Copa Libertadores 1988. The Regional Tournament divided the teams into four groups; Metropolitan, North, Central, and South. Copa Perú
The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named '' Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The following year, the Copa Perú began, in which all non-professional teams in Peru were allowed to compete, with the winner to gain promotion to the First Division.
