Spanish Stroll is a 1977 single by Mink DeVille, off their debut album ''Cabretta''. It features a spoken word section by bassist Rubén Sigüenza during the break ("¡Hey Rosita! ¿Dónde vas con mi carro, Rosita? Tú sabes que te quiero, pero usted me quita todo"), adding a Latin flavor to it. "Spanish Stroll" reached #20 on the UK Singles Chart; it was to be DeVille's only record ever to chart in the UK. Mink DeVille
Mink DeVille was a rock band founded in 1974, known for its association with early punk rock bands at New York's CBGB nightclub and for being a showcase for the music of Willy DeVille. The band recorded six albums in the years 1977 to 1985, after which it disbanded the next year. Except for frontman Willy DeVille, the original members of the band played only on the first two albums ('' Cabretta'' and '' Return to Magenta''). For the remaining albums and for tours, Willy DeVille assembled musicians to play under the name "Mink Deville". After 1985, when Willy DeVille began recording and touring under his own name, his backup bands were sometimes called "The Mink DeVille Band", an allusion to the earlier Mink Deville name. Spearmint are a London-based indie pop band, founded in 1995 by Shirley Lee. The group has received coverage in the ''NME'', ''Time Out'', ''Melody Maker'' and ''Uncut'' magazines. The original lineup included founder Shirley Lee (guitar and lead vocals), Simon Calnan (keyboard and backing vocals), Ronan Larvor (drums), and Martin Talbot (bass guitar). It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. ''The Virgin Book of British Hit Singles'' is a charts reference book published in October 2008. It replaces the ''Guinness Book of British Hit Singles & Albums'', after the Guinness World Records brand was sold to The Jim Pattison Group (owner of ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!''), who decided that UK chart books were not a core part of their new global acquisition (especially as the contract was due to expire anyway). The last edition was published by Guinness World Records in 2006 and covered all chart hits between 1952-2005. Two years later Ebury Publishing/Random House took over the contract from The Official Charts Company to publish the re-branded version of the book under their Virgin Books brand.
