The Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference (also known as the SMAC or the Big 16) is a high school athletic conference in Southwestern Michigan. It is composed of Class A schools from the MHSAA in Berrien, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren counties. Holland High School (Michigan)
Holland High School is a Division 1 public high school in Holland, Michigan. The schools colors are Red and white. The athletic nickname is "The Dutch". Campus The current facility was opened in 1962 on Van Raalte Avenue at a 10-12 facility. The campus consisted of seven buildings: East Unit, West Unit, Arts Center, Library and Administration, Fieldhouse, Industrial Arts and Performing Arts Center. The campus was previously at 96 W 15th st. Because the buildings were not connected, students went outside during class changes. Renovations in 1990 and 1991 connected all buildings except the Performing Arts Center and also added a building for Math and Science. BCS League
The Berrien-Cass-St. Joseph (BCS) League is an athletic conference for high schools in southwest Michigan. Founded in 2014 with the inaugural season of play in 2014-15, the conference aspired to grow into a Southwest Michigan "super conference" with membership extending across all MHSAA classes and organized into divisions of schools with similar enrollments. Periodic realignment of divisions allowed members to remain in competition with like-sized schools within the conference thereby avoiding the disruptive effects of conference switching due to changing enrollment. The conference had a unique scheduling philosophy that did not force members to play against conference opponents in different divisions and respected the freedom of members to schedule rivals and other willing conference opponents regardless of size or division. Dowagiac ( ) is a city in Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 5,879 at the 2010 census. It is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka, IN-MI, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Albion Senior High School was a secondary school located in Albion, Michigan which served students in grades 9–12. It was a part of Albion Public Schools. The Ottawa-Kent Conference is an athletic league located in West Michigan. Its current leader is David VanNoord.
