Ottawa-Kent Conference
The Ottawa-Kent Conference is an athletic league located in West Michigan. Its current leader is David VanNoord. It has member schools from Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, and Ottawa Counties. It has 48 member schools that partake in athletics. According to the MHSAA they have the main offices located at Grandville High School. Members * Note: The class and population size are from the 2023-24 MHSAA listings. The # next to the year admitted is for founding members. Classifications As of the 2006-07 school year the conference has put a requirement in writing for which sports they want all schools to have a varsity level program in. Those include Baseball, Basketball (boys & girls), Football, Softball (girls), Track & Field (boys & girls), Volleyball (girls), and Wrestling They also listed a second group of sports which they want a minimal of two more sports in varsity level. West Michigan
West Michigan and Western Michigan are terms for an arbitrary region in the U.S. state of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Most narrowly it refers to the Grand Rapids- Muskegon-Holland area, and more broadly to most of the region along the Lower Peninsula's Lake Michigan shoreline, but there is no official definition. Definition In general, "West Michigan" often refers to the area bounded by the cities of Muskegon (in the north), Grand Rapids (in the northeast), Kalamazoo-Battle Creek (in the southeast) and St.Joseph-Benton Harbor (in the southwest). Muskegon High School
Muskegon High School is a public high school located in Muskegon, Michigan, and was the first high school in Muskegon County, Michigan. History The Class of 1875, consisting of two girls, was the first from Muskegon High School. Records show there were 102 students enrolled at the high school, and employed three teachers. On December 14, 1890 a fire completely destroyed the Central School. The loss was serious, as the building accommodated 700 students. Following the disaster, local lumber baron Charles Hackley (January 3, 1837 – January 10, 1905) offered to furnish money to build two new schools. One, a new high school located on Jefferson at Washington Avenue, opened in September 1893. The second, the Hackley School, rose on the site of the original Central school. Lowell High School (Lowell, Michigan)
Lowell High School is a public school located in Vergennes Township, Michigan, United States, with a Lowell postal address. By 1992 the school district chose the Steve Wittenbach plot as the current high school location, which in turn helped gift a gas franchise to Grattan Township. Athletics Lowell High School is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. It is A Division II school, and all of its teams currently play within the Ottawa-Kent (O.K.) White League. Unity Christian High School (Hudsonville)
Unity Christian High School is a private Christian school located in Hudsonville, Michigan. It is a member of Christian Schools International. West Ottawa High School
West Ottawa High School is located in Ottawa County, Michigan. Along with Holland High School, Holland Christian High School and Black River Public School, West Ottawa is one of four high schools in the Holland, Michigan area. Holland Christian High School
Holland Christian High School is a private, Calvinist high school in the city of Holland, Michigan. Holland Christian's colors are maroon and white, and their nickname is "The Maroons". Holland Christian High School is the only grade 9–12 building in the Holland Christian Schools system. Holland High School (Michigan)
Holland High School is a Division 1 public high school in Holland, Michigan. The schools colors are Red and white. The athletic nickname is "The Dutch". Campus The current facility was opened in 1962 on Van Raalte Avenue at a 10-12 facility. The campus consisted of seven buildings: East Unit, West Unit, Arts Center, Library and Administration, Fieldhouse, Industrial Arts and Performing Arts Center. The campus was previously at 96 W 15th st. Because the buildings were not connected, students went outside during class changes.
