South Page Community School District
South Page Community School District, or South Page Schools, is a small, rural, public school district headquartered in College Springs, Iowa. It is entirely in Page County, and includes College Springs, Blanchard, Braddyville, Coin, and Shambaugh. History It was formed in 1959 by combining the Braddyville, Coin, Amity (College Springs), and Blanchard consolidated districts which included Shambaugh. Although the elementary and grades 7–12 are housed in College Springs, at one time there were two elementary schools located in Braddyville and Coin. The high school has always been located in College Springs. The 1960 K–12 enrollment was approximately 600 but enrollment has plummeted to less than 200 students. Although some of the sharp decline is due to an open enrollment policy in Iowa, the great majority is due to population shift in rural areas as a result of smaller families, larger farms and lack of economic opportunity. The state government passed the Consolidated School of Law of 1906 and this figure fell to 4,863 in 1908, 4,839 in 1922,. and 4,558 in 1953. Norman Johnston (decathlete)
Norman J. Johnston (3 December 1918 – 16 March 2015) was a Professor in the Departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning in the University of Washington College of Built Environments. Education Johnston was born in Seattle and raised in Olympia, Washington. His father, Jay Johnston, was the resident supervisor during the construction of the Washington State Capitol, Washington State capitol complex. Johnston enrolled at the University of Washington, planning to study architecture, but graduated in 1942 with a B.A. in art. He subsequently earned his B.Arch. from the University of Oregon, graduating in 1949. He earned a Urban planning education, Master of Urban Planning in 1959 and a Ph.D. in 1964 at the University of Pennsylvania. Joe Henderson (born June 3, 1943, Peoria, Illinois) is an American runner, running coach, writer, and former chief editor of ''Runner's World'' magazine.
