Sotiris Gioulekas
Sotirios "Sotiris" Gioulekas ( el, Σωτήρης Γκιουλέκας, , born November 28, 1979) is a Greek professional basketball player. He is a 6 ft 7.5 in (2.02 m) tall small forward. Professional career In his pro career, Gioulekas has played with the following clubs: GS Larissas, Olympia Larissa, Baskets Nürnberg. In the later stages of the 2005–06 season he signed for Virtus Bologna. In April 2007 he signed for Orlandina. In July 2007, he signed an annual contract with Veroli. In December 2008 Gioulekas reached an agreement with Brindisi. In 2009, Gioulekas signed for the Italian A2 club Scafati. In 2011, he returned to Greece for third-tier team Aries Trikala. In the summer of 2013, he signed for Koroivos of the Greek A2 League. On 29 August 2014 he signed for Greek A2 team Filippos Veria. In June 2015, he signed to Iraklis Thessaloniki. FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship
The FIBA U16 European Championship, previously known as the FIBA Europe Championship for Cadets, is a youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1971 edition. Through the 2003 edition, it was held every second year, but since the 2004 edition onward, it is held every year. Greece National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Koroivos B.C. or Koroivos Amaliadas B.C. (alternate spellings: Koroibos Amaliada) (Greek: Κόροιβος Αμαλιάδας KAE), is a Greek professional basketball club that is based in Amaliada, Greece. Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. Names History The league was created in May 1974, by the Lega Basket, the organisation in charge of running the LBA (to this day), that decided to create a new second division with 10 clubs. Veroli Basket was an Italian professional basketball team based in Veroli, Lazio. It ceased operations in February 2015 after financial problems. History After taking part in Centro Sportivo Italiano (a Christian sports association) competitions, the club was officially created as società Basket Veroli in 1968. The club was promoted to the national Serie C in 1974-75. In 2002-03 it moved up to the Serie B1, the third division, at the end of the 2006-07 season the side was promoted to the LegaDue. The 2005–06 Lega Basket Serie A season, known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons, was the 84th season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season ran from October 9, 2005 to May 2006, 18 teams played 34 games each. The top 8 teams made the play-offs whilst the lowest ranked team, Viola Reggio Calabria and the bankrupt club Roseto Basket, BT Roseto, were relegated to the Serie A2 Basket, Legadue.
