Sonoma Valley Airport
Sonoma Valley Airport is a public-use airstrip founded in 1946 by Wally Reichelt in Sonoma, California, United States. Its first California-certificated runway opened in August 1959. Located south of central district of Sonoma (4.76 mi, 7.67 km) and north of San Francisco (30.94 mi, 49.8 km), the airfield offers two asphalt runways, of which the 17/35 is restricted, needing prior permission to use. Open to public use for light aircraft, Sonoma Valley Airport does not allow ultralight and rotorcraft operations, except for MEDEVAC or law enforcement helicopters. There are no night operations. Flying hours begin at morning civil twilight and end at evening civil twilight. Fuel is self-serve. The Republic RC-3 Seabee is an all-metal amphibious sports aircraft designed by Percival Spencer and manufactured by the Republic Aircraft Corporation. Design and development The RC-3 Seabee was designed by Percival Hopkins "Spence" Spencer. An aviation pioneer, he built his first hang glider in April 1911 at the age of 17 from plans he found in a ''Popular Mechanics'' magazine. Dornier Do 27
The Dornier Do 27 is a German single-engine STOL utility aircraft that was designed and manufactured by Dornier GmbH (later DASA Dornier and Fairchild-Dornier). It was notable for being the first mass-produced aircraft in Germany following the end of the Second World War.
