Solitude (King Midas Sound Album)
''Solitude'' is the fourth studio album by King Midas Sound, the musical project of British musicians Kevin Martin and Roger Robinson. It was released on 15 February (Valentine's Day) 2019 through Cosmo Rhythmatic. The album is almost entirely beatless, and the lyrics explore isolation, loneliness, regret and resentment. According to Martin and Robinson, it was recorded in a fraught period, but the lyrics are not autobiographical. Track listing Reception While the album was largely met with positive reviews, reviewers have found the album difficult to recommend due to the overwhelming bleakness of it. King Midas Sound
Kevin Richard Martin, often known under his recording alias The Bug, is an English musician and music producer. Martin moved from Weymouth to London around 1990 and is now currently based in mainland Europe. He has been active for over two decades in the genres of dub, jazzcore, industrial hip hop, dancehall, and dubstep. Martin's projects include GOD, Techno Animal, Ice, Curse of the Golden Vampire, Pressure and, most recently, King Midas Sound (with poet Roger Robinson and singer/visual artist Kiki Hitomi) and The Bug vs Earth. Early life Martin first became interested in music as a teenager going to Handsome Dick's, a record store in Weymouth, Dorset, England, UK. Spoken word refers to an oral poetic performance art that is based mainly on the poem as well as the performer's aesthetic qualities. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review.
