Solar Twins were an English electronic music duo with Joanna Stevens (vocals) and David Norland (producer/all instruments/vocals). Solar Twins were signed by Guy Oseary at Maverick Records after playing at Viper Room. They are known for their version of Rock the Casbah, found on the soundtrack to the film ''Brokedown Palace''. They made one album, and split after attempting a second, thwarted by insurmountable creative differences. ''Sleepthief'' is an American electronic music recording project formed by producer and composer Justin Elswick. Elswick began writing music for the album ten years prior to its release. The album was mixed, mastered, co-produced, and co-arranged by Israel Curtis. Sleepthief's first album, ''The Dawnseeker'', was released in 2006. Sleepthief is most often compared to musical groups such as Delerium (in its output from the mid-1990s onward) and Balligomingo, which produce emotive, melodic, synthesized music with what is often described as new-age-influenced ethnic characteristics from other cultures. Also similar to these groups is Sleepthief's use of pop music-based song structures with performances by female singers. ''Symbol of Life'' is the ninth studio album by British metal band Paradise Lost. It marks a departure by the band from their synth-based approach and returning to a much heavier sound, although not abandoning the keyboards altogether. This album was the final release featuring drummer Lee Morris. Two songs which were written and left out for this album are "I Can Hate You" and "Deus". Neither have been released on any of the reissues of this album, but can be found on the digipak version of the single "Erased"; the aforementioned single has a music video. Paradise Lost are an English gothic metal band that formed in 1988 in Halifax, considered to be among the pioneers of the death-doom genre, and regarded as the main influence for the later gothic metal movement. ''Conjure One'' is the self-titled debut album by Canadian electronic music project Conjure One, headed by Rhys Fulber. It was released on September 17, 2002 through Nettwerk. Background Being a long-time collaborator of Canadian musician Bill Leeb in the bands Front Line Assembly and Delerium, Fulber had a worldwide hit with the single "Silence" in 1999 with the latter. According to their own figures, Nettwerk sold 1 million copies of the album Karma from which the single was taken. Backed by the success, Fulber decided to release solo material. "Once you have a big song, people listen to what you have to say," he said to Billboard and expressed satisfaction with the label's backing: "Nettwerk was very supportive and has been very patient with me." Conjure One is a Canadian electronic music project, headed by Rhys Fulber, better known as a member of Front Line Assembly and Delerium. History After performing with Front Line Assembly at the 1996 Roskilde Festival, Fulber left the band to pursue a solo career. He set up a studio in Amsterdam; the influence of life there, and traveling to the Eastern Mediterranean, gave him the idea of an ethnic ambient project. Soon after, a debut album was announced, though Fulber's work as a producer and remixer eventually pushed its release to September 2002. The self-titled album was a fusion of the electronic characteristics of Fulber's previous work—keyboard-based, with rhythmic dance beats—and the influences of Middle Eastern music, which inspired ambient melodies more reminiscent of Delerium. Delerium is a Canadian new-age ambient electronic musical duo that formed in 1987, originally as a side project of the influential industrial music act Front Line Assembly.
