''Sol Nascente'' (English: ''Rising Sun'') is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by Rede Globo. It premiered on 29 August 2016, replacing ''Êta Mundo Bom!''. Created by Walther Negrão, Suzana Pires and Júlio Fischer, in collaboration with Jackie Vellego and Fausto Galvão. The telenovela is directed by Marcelo Travesso and Leonardo Nogueira. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. Ana Carolina Soares Nakamura (born 9 May 1983, in Rio de Janeiro) more popularly known as Carol Nakamura is a Brazilian dancer, actress, and television personality. ''Novo Mundo'' (English: ''New World'') is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by TV Globo. It is created by Alessandro Marson and Thereza Falcão, and directed by Vinícius Coimbra.
