Soichi Terada
is a Japanese electronic music composer, best known for his work in the '' Ape Escape'' video game series. He started producing music in 1989 as well as remixing singers such as Nami Shimada. He and fellow producer Shinichiro Yokota formed Far East Recording in 1990, releasing various albums and singles. In 1999, after releasing ''Sumo Jungle'', he was given an opportunity to compose for Ape Escape. In 2014, "The Far East Transcripts" EP was released, sparking interest in Terada's work. A year after, the album '' Sounds from the Far East'' was released, which led to him touring and creating more music. ''Sounds from the Far East'' is a compilation album by Japanese house producer Soichi Terada released by Dutch label Rush Hour on March 23, 2015. The album was compiled by German-born Korean DJ Hunee with appearances from Shinichiro Yokota and Manabu Nagayama. The album includes many long-sought material by Terada and Yokota, including Yokota's "Do It Again," known as Yokota's most popular work, and "Sun Showered," an alternate version of Nami Shimada and Terada's song "Sunshower" which was remixed by Larry Heard and Mark Kamins. The album came after renewed interest in Japanese house music with the release of "The Far East Transcripts" via the London-based label Hhatri in 2014. Mark Kamins (April 13, 1955 – February 14, 2013) was an American record producer, remixer, and disc jockey famous for his role in the New York club scene. He is best known for helping launch the career of singer Madonna by bringing her to Sire Records and producing her debut single "Everybody (Madonna song), Everybody" in 1982. Larry Levan (; born Lawrence Philpot, July 20, 1954 – November 8, 1992) was an American DJ best known for his decade-long residency at the New York City night club Paradise Garage, which has been described as the prototype of the modern dance club. He developed a cult following who referred to his sets as "Saturday Mass". Influential post-disco DJ François Kevorkian credits Levan with introducing the dub aesthetic into dance music.
