Sounds From The Far East
''Sounds from the Far East'' is a compilation album by Japanese house producer Soichi Terada released by Dutch label Rush Hour on March 23, 2015. The album was compiled by German-born Korean DJ Hunee with appearances from Shinichiro Yokota and Manabu Nagayama. The album includes many long-sought material by Terada and Yokota, including Yokota's "Do It Again," known as Yokota's most popular work, and "Sun Showered," an alternate version of Nami Shimada and Terada's song "Sunshower" which was remixed by Larry Heard and Mark Kamins. The album came after renewed interest in Japanese house music with the release of "The Far East Transcripts" via the London-based label Hhatri in 2014. Rush Hour's co-founder, Antal Heitlager, reached out to Terada if he was interested in the project, with Terada allowing the project as he took interest. Soichi Terada
is a Japanese electronic music composer, best known for his work in the ''Ape Escape'' video game series. He started producing music in 1989 as well as remixing singers such as Nami Shimada. He and fellow producer Shinichiro Yokota formed Far East Recording in 1990, releasing various albums and singles. In 1999, after releasing ''Sumo Jungle'', he was given an opportunity to compose for Ape Escape. In 2014, "The Far East Transcripts" EP was released, sparking interest in Terada's work. A year after, the album '' Sounds from the Far East'' was released, which led to him touring and creating more music. Derek Boland (15 January 1965 – 15 November 2009), better known by his stage name Derek B, was a British rapper. His most commercially successful releases were "Goodgroove" and "Bad Young Brother" in 1988. Biography Born in Hammersmith, London, to Trinidadian nurse Jenny Boland, he was raised in Woodford. When he was fifteen years old, he began DJing in a mobile unit around London, before joining local pirate radio stations such as Kiss FM and LWR and finally starting his own station, WBLS (not to be confused with the radio station of the same name in New York). Garage house (originally known as "garage"; local terms include "New York house" and New Jersey sound) is a dance music style that was developed alongside Chicago house music. The genre was popular in the 1980s in the United States and the 1990s in the United Kingdom, where it developed into UK garage and speed garage. Amerikamura (also America mura; アメリカ村, ''American Village'') is a sizable retail and entertainment area near Shinsaibashi in the Chūō-ku district of Osaka, Japan. "Purple Haze" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and released as the second single by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on March 17, 1967. Raw Silk was an American dance band, which originated in New York. History Raw Silk first signed to West End Records, which was once a popular garage label, where they recorded moderate hits. Their songs were remixed by post-disco/ R&B production duo Nick Martinelli and David Todd. Gwendolyn Guthrie (July 9, 1950 – February 3, 1999) was an American singer-songwriter and pianist who also sang backing vocals for Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Peter Tosh, and Madonna, among others, and who wrote songs made famous by Ben E.
