Sociedade Esportiva Ypiranga Futebol Clube, commonly known as Ypiranga, is a Brazilian football club based in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, Pernambuco state. They competed twice in the Série C. History The club was founded on August 3, 1938. They competed in the Série C in 1995, when they were eliminated in the First Stage of the competition. Ypiranga won the Campeonato Pernambucano Second Level in 2004. Santa Cruz do Capibaribe is a Brazilian municipality in the State of Pernambuco. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C 1995 was a football (soccer) series played from August 27 to December 10th, 1995. It was the third level of the Brazilian National League. The competition had 108 clubs, the largest number before or since (as of writing in 2014), and two of them were originally promoted to Série B. However, with the withdrawal of five teams after the 1995 Série B, the 3rd to 6th placed teams in the 1995 Série C were promoted to the 1996 Série B. The Campeonato Pernambucano de Futebol (Pernambucan Football Championship, in English) is the football championship of Pernambuco state, Brazil, and is organized by the Federação Pernambucana de Futebol, FPF. The first edition of the Campeonato Pernambucano was played in 1915, and was won by Sport Club Flamengo, Flamengo de Recife, a defunct club.
