The Socialist Party of Cameroon (french: Parti Socialiste Camerounaise, PSC) was a political party in Cameroon. History The party was established in November 1959 by former Senator Charles Okala.Mark Dike DeLancey, Rebecca Neh Mbuh & Mark W DeLancey (2010) ''Historical Dictionary of the Republic of Cameroon'', Scarecrow Press, p303 Together with the Cameroonian National Action Movement, the PSC formed the Group of Cameroonian Progressives to contest the Cameroonian parliamentary election, 1960, 1960 elections. The alliance received 4.5% of the vote, winning seven seats. The alliance joined Ahmadou Ahidjo's Cameroonian Union-led government in May 1960, with Okala becoming and Foreign Minister. After being convicted of conspiracy, Okala was imprisoned in 1962. Cameroon
Cameroon (; french: Cameroun, ff, Kamerun), officially the Republic of Cameroon (french: République du Cameroun, links=no), is a country in west-central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west and north; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Its coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean.
