A smile is a facial expression formed primarily by flexing the muscles at the sides of the mouth. Some smiles include a contraction of the muscles at the corner of the eyes, an action known as a Duchenne smile. Among humans, a smile expresses delight, sociability, happiness, joy, or amusement. Tommy Girvin
Tommy Girvin is a guitarist who is most famous for playing with Eddie Money, with whom he played since 1986. Prior to Eddie Money, he played in a band from southern California called Smile, which reportedly had considerable success. Smile shared the stage with Van Halen, Quiet Riot and Mötley Crüe. He also holds the logo graphics credit for Heart's 1980 album '' Bebe le Strange''. He reportedly gave Warrant guitarist Joey Allen guitar lessons. He is given special thanks in the liner notes of the Warrant album '' Cherry Pie''. It is implied, but not explicitly stated, that he may have played as an uncredited guest guitarist on the album. Smile were an English Rock music, rock band based in London, and the predecessor to rock band Queen (band), Queen. The band was formed in 1968 by Brian May, who went on to become Queen's guitarist. It included Tim Staffell as lead singer and bass guitarist, and later, drummer Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), Roger Taylor, who also went on to play for Queen. They recorded only six songs and disbanded in 1970. These songs were titled "April Lady", "Step on Me", "Polar Bear", "Earth", "Blag", and "Doin' Alright" (later re-recorded by Queen for their Queen (Queen album), self-titled debut album in 1973). The Smile are an English rock band comprising the Radiohead members Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Jonny Greenwood (guitar, bass, keys) with the drummer Tom Skinner. ''Smile'' was a magazine aimed at teenage girls. The magazine was started in 1998. At first it was supposed to be a mainstream teen mag similar to ''Seventeen'', but with added manga; later, it became more focused on manga and removed most of its other features. It was published by Tokyopop based in Los Angeles. The magazine was discontinued in 2002. ''Sailor Moon'', ''Peach Girl'', and ''Juline'' were serialized in the magazine. ''Sailor Moon'' was originally serialized in ''MixxZine'' but Mixx moved it to ''Smile'' because Mixx wanted to refocus ''MixxZine'' towards high school and university/college-aged readers.
