''Sky News Breakfast'' is a British breakfast television program that airs Saturday and Bank Holidays from 6–10am and Sunday from 6–8.30am on Sky News. The show launched on Friday, 18 October 2019 as the replacement for long-running breakfast show ''Sunrise''. Anna Jones is the programmes main presenter. Anna also hosts the Friday morning breakfast programme on the channel, Friday programmes are broadcast from Westminster rather than Osterley and use the same format as the Monday-Thursday programmes. The show was one of Sky's final double headed formats - the other being ''Sky News Today'' - and was presented by Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph from Sky Centre in Osterley until January 2021. History Sky News announced on 23 September 2019 that they were introducing two new breakfast shows to replace ''Sunrise''. Breakfast television (Europe, Canada, and Australia) or morning show (United States) is a type of news or infotainment television programme that broadcasts live in the morning (typically scheduled between 5:00 and 10:00a.m., or if it is a local programme, as early as 4:00a.m.). Stephen Dixon (newsreader)
Stephen Dixon (born 1 March 1974) is an English news presenter. Formerly presenting ''Sky News Sunrise'', '' Sky News at Seven'' and ''Sky News at Ten'' on Sky News, Dixon now co-presents ''Breakfast with Stephen and Anne'' on GB News. Journalism career Dixon's career began at Nottingham Trent University where he read for a BA in Broadcast Journalism, graduating in 1995. Before working for Sky News, Dixon worked for ITN as both a presenter and producer for ITV, NBC Superchannel, and Channel 5. ''The Early Rundown'' is a British Breakfast programme that is broadcast on Sky News and Sky Showcase every weekday from 5-7 am. The show rounds-up the latest news that has broken overnight, and also offers an insight as to what lies ahead. Kamali Melbourne is the main presenter, hosting most Monday to Thursday programmes. Overview The show from launch was hosted by Niall Paterson from Monday-Thursday with Gamal Fahnbulleh hosting on Fridays. Stephen Dixon later took over hosting the Friday programmes in September 2020. Kay Burley (born Kay McGurrin; 17 December 1960) is a British broadcaster and writer. She is a presenter on Sky News and hosts ''Kay Burley'', the breakfast slot on the channel. She also worked for BBC Local Radio, Tyne Tees Television, and TV-am. Early life Burley was brought up in Beech Hill, Wigan, Lancashire, the daughter of parents who worked in a cardboard-making factory. She attended Whitley High School (closed 1990). Jacquie Beltrao (born Jacqueline Leavy on 21 April 1965 in Dublin) is a sports presenter on Sky News and a former Olympic gymnast. Early life and career Born in Dublin, Ireland, she grew up in Coventry, England. ''Sky News at 10'' (previously branded ''Sky News at Ten'', and now usually ''News at 10'') is a long-running nightly news programme on Sky News, airing between 10:00 pm and 10:30 pm. It is a half-hour round-up of the day's top stories with analysis of their possible impact from the channel's specialists. Gillian Angela Joseph (born 20 July 1969) is a British newscaster currently working for Sky News. Joseph is the anchor of weekend editions of ''Sky News at Ten''. Early life She was born in 1969 in Coventry, England. Her parents originated from Dominica in the Caribbean. Her parents returned to Dominica, where her mother worked as a teacher, but the family later returned to England. She has two daughters and a son. Joseph was an MA student at City University in London, studying Broadcast Journalism.
