Sky News At Ten
''Sky News at 10'' (previously branded ''Sky News at Ten'', and now usually ''News at 10'') is a long-running nightly news programme on Sky News, airing between 10:00 pm and 10:30 pm. It is a half-hour round-up of the day's top stories with analysis of their possible impact from the channel's specialists. The show is presented by Anna Botting from Monday to Thursday and Gillian Joseph from Friday to Sunday. Sky News at Ten History The show was originally launched on 8 March 1999 following the axe of ITV's '' News at Ten''. Originally, the show used its own special version of the Sky News graphics and a unique mix of the Sky News theme music, and was presented by Bob Friend and Anna Botting. Over the years, the programme has been presented by many of Sky's presenters; since February 2007, Anna Botting has presented the broadcast on weeknights. Anna Botting
Anna Elizabeth Botting (born 4 November 1967) is an English news presenter with Sky News, a broadcasting network based in the United Kingdom. She currently presents Sky News from 21:00 until midnight from Monday to Thursday. Prior to the channel's rescheduling in July 2006, Botting presented '' The Sky Report'', and from then until February 2007, she presented Sky News from 18:00 to 20:00 alongside Jeremy Thompson. Background Botting, born in Cranleigh, Surrey, is the daughter of Douglas Botting, explorer and author, and Louise Botting, a company director and former broadcaster. She studied Geography at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University, before deciding to pursue a career in journalism. She took a postgraduate course in journalism at Cardiff University, before beginning work in Manchester as a researcher for a social action show for Granada Television. Vivien Creegor
Vivien Creegor (born c. 1959) is an English television newscaster. From 1989 until 2006, she was one of the principal news readers on Sky News. Broadcasting career Creegor started her career as a secretary with the BBC and eventually became a production assistant for BBC Radio Drama and an abridger for the BBC Radio 4 programme, ''A Book at Bedtime''. She became a newsreader on British television on BBC1 and BBC2 and on radio on BBC Radio 4: she was a main presenter on Points West during much of the 1980s. In 1988, she joined the fledgling Sky News, eventually becoming the news anchor with Bob Friend. Sky Sports News (SSN) is a British pay television, paid television sports news channel run by Sky Limited, Sky, a division of Comcast. History Since 1992, Sky Sports had broadcast sports news, initially a brief ''Football Update'' and later this was expanded into a 30-minute programme called ''Sky Sports Centre''. These programmes were generally broadcast on weekdays at 6pm and 10pm. Sky Sports News launched on 1 October 1998, the launch date of BSkyB's Digital Satellite service, and was BSkyB's first digital only channel. On 10 April 2000, Sky Sports News relaunched as Sky Sports.com TV, to tie with the launch of the SkySports.com website. The channel scrapped its ".com TV" look, and on 1 July 2001, Sky Sports News launched another graphics change. Jayne Secker
Katherine Jayne Secker (born 12 July 1972) is an English journalist and newsreader for Sky News. She has presented ''Sky News Today'' on the channel since September 2014, formerly alongside Colin Brazier. Early life Secker was born in 1972 in Bedlington, Northumberland and grew up in North East England. Her mother was the Tyne Tees Television and BBC Radio Newcastle broadcaster Kathy Secker. Following A levels at Westfield School, she undertook a degree course in film and media at the University of Stirling. During that time she edited student newspapers and completed an internship with BBC Radio Newcastle. After graduating, she became an assigned BBC trainee in 1996. Jonathan Samuels (born 1972) is a British broadcaster and journalist. He co-anchored Sky News Sunrise (Sky News), Sunrise between 2016 and 2018 and now anchors The News Hour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as News at Ten during weekend periods. Mark Longhurst is a British news presenter. Longhurst presented on ITV's regional news, ITV News West Country until October 2017.
