Robert Aston (born October 29, 1978), better known by his stage name Skinhead Rob, is an American rapper best known as a founding member of the rap rock group the Transplants. He is also the lead vocalist in a D-beat punk band named Death March and a former member of hip-hop group Expensive Taste. Career Aston's career began as a roadie for bands Boot Party, AFI, and Rancid. He eventually started a solo career, releasing the song "Show Me". He became involved in the Transplants when Tim Armstrong asked for lyrics to the songs Aston had been writing. The two started jamming in Armstrong's basement. They eventually invited Travis Barker of Blink-182 to provide drum tracks, instead of using drum-loops as originally planned. At the end of the 2005 Vans Warped Tour, Transplants took a hiatus and Rob and Travis joined Houston rapper Paul Wall, who chopped and screwed the Transplants' ''Haunted Cities'' album, to form a new group called Expensive Taste. ''Haunted Cities'' is the second studio album by the American punk rock/ hip hop band Transplants. It was released on June 21, 2005 via LaSalle Records/Atlantic Records, and sold close to 34,000 copies in its first week and came in at #28 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, #72 on the UK Albums Chart, #140 on the Top 200 Albums France. Production Audio production of the record was handled by Tim Armstrong and Dave Carlock. Rancid's Matt Freeman, The Slackers' Vic Ruggiero, Cypress Hill's B-Real and Sen Dog, Dilated Peoples' Rakaa, and Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. made their appearances on the album as additional musicians and vocalists. Lars Frederiksen And The Bastards
Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards was an American street punk band formed to release the songs that Lars had written. Their songs include subject matter consisting of drinking, fighting, drugs, sex, prostitutes, gangs, and street life. They were the side project band of Lars Frederiksen from Rancid. The band members were Lars Frederiksen (vocals and lead guitar), Gordy Carbone (also credited as "Unknown Bastard") (vocals), Jason Woods, aka Big Jay Bastard, (bass), Craig Leg (rhythm guitar) and Scott Abels (also credited as "Skatty Punk Rock") (drums). While Craig did not appear on the first album, he was always been a touring member of the band. The band was formed after Lars' friend and bandmate in Rancid, Tim Armstrong suggested writing songs about Lars and his friend Ben growing up in Campbell, California. Take Cover (Transplants EP)
''Take Cover'' is the first extended play by American punk rock/ hip hop band the Transplants. It was released on October 13, 2017. The EP features 5 cover songs, a redone version of "Saturday Night" (from Barker's ''Give the Drummer Some'') and a new track "Won't Be Coming Back". Its vinyl version is limited to 1000 copies and released on red vinyl. Release and promotion On February 28, 2014, it was revealed on the band's official Facebook page, that the band had begun writing and recording new material. On April 28, 2015, Travis Barker announced that Transplants are almost finished with the recording of several cover songs. ''In a Warzone'' is the third album by the American punk rock/ hip hop band Transplants. It was premiered as a stream on ''Rolling Stones website on June 17, 2013 and released via Epitaph Records on June 25, 2013. Recording sessions took place at Opra Music Studios and The Boat in Los Angeles. Audio production of the record was entirely handled by the Transplants with Christopher Holmes. Rancid's Matt Freeman, Left Alone's Elvis Cortez, UGK's Bun B, Bored Stiff's Equipto, and Expensive Taste's Paul Wall made their appearances on the album as additional musicians and vocalists. The band supported the album by touring with Rancid. The album peaked at #58 on the ''Billboard'' 200 in the United States. Its lead single "Come Around" did not appear on any major chart. Audio production of the twelve-track record was handled by Tim Armstrong and Dave Carlock. ''Live Freaky Die Freaky'' is a stop motion-animated, musical independent film directed by John Roecker. It is a black comedy based on the Charles Manson murders. It premiered on DVD in the United States on January 17, 2006 and played in a few theatres on January 20, 27 and 28. Plot The film starts out with a futuristic Nomad from the year 3069 who accidentally discovers the book " Helter Skelter" while searching for food in a desert on the former site of Los Angeles. John Roecker
John Roecker is an Independent filmmaking, independent filmmaker who is associated with the punk subculture. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Roecker is probably best known for ''Live Freaky! Die Freaky!'', a stop motion animated comedy based on the True crime (genre), true crime book ''Helter Skelter (book), Helter Skelter''. From 1996 to 1999, Roecker and Exene Cervenka co-owned Los Angeles store "You've Got Bad Taste." The store specialized in kitsch and various "off-color" novelties, such as paintings by serial killer and rapist John Wayne Gacy and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) wanted poster of bank robber Patty Hearst . ''Psycho White'' is a collaborative EP by American drummer Travis Barker and rapper Yelawolf. It was released on November 13, 2012, under LaSalle Records and Killer Distribution. The first single of the EP, "Push 'Em" was released as a free download via Yelawolf's Twitter page and on numerous hip hop websites on September 12. The artwork was released the same day as well as a behind-the-scenes video of how the artwork was created. Yelawolf and Travis Barker broke down the meaning behind their project track-by-track with Sean Lynch of The Source Magazine. Part 1 also saw Yelawolf and Travis Barker hinting at a possible sequel and Warped Tour dates.
