Siol
Siol.net is a Slovenian web media and the oldest news portal in Slovenia. It is owned and managed by TSmedia company that is itself owned by the Telekom Slovenije. The main contents cover daily politics, news, sports, technology, lifestyle, and motoring. Since 2020, Peter Jančič serves as the editor-in-chief. History Siol.net was established in 1996 by Telekom Slovenije. It was the first online news portal in Slovenia and has seen a number of visual changes over the years. Between 1999 and 2007, the portal was owned by Siol. In 2008 the ownership and management was taken over by Planet 9, which merged with the company Najdi on 1 April 2011. In September 2011 the company was renamed as TSmedia. Siol news media should not be confused with SiOL, another part of Telekom Slovenije and is a cable TV, internet, and telephone provider and deals only with providing access and offering support for these services. Telekom Slovenije
Telekom Slovenije d.d. (, "Telecom of Slovenia") is a telecommunications company based in Slovenia, with its headquarters in Ljubljana. History In 1994 PTT Slovenija separated postal and telecommunication activities and transferred all telecommunication infrastructure to the newly founded Telekom Slovenije. On August 31, 2013, it was announced that the Slovenian state intends to sell its 73 percent stake in Telekom Slovenije. Slovenian Telekom owned and operated the TV channel Planet TV. In 2020 the channel was sold to the Hungarian channel TV2 by József Vida. Vida is close to the Hungarian ruling party Fidesz, which in turn has close political alliances with Prime Minister Janez Janša and the Serbian government led by Aleksandar Vučić. Peter Jančič
Peter Jančič is a Slovenian publicist, journalist, editor, political analyst and author. He has served as an editor-in-chief of daily Delo (2006-2007), Spletni časopis (2017-2020) and Siol news website (2020-). Jančič graduated with a thesis on journalistic ethics and honor code at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana in 1991. He published scholarly articles on journalistic ethics in Teorija in praksa ''Teorija in praksa'' is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering the social sciences. It is published by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana and the editor-in-chief is Anton Grizold.
