Sincere (song)
"Sincere" is the debut single by English UK garage musician MJ Cole, released in 1998. It features Nova Casper and Jay Dee on vocals. The song initially peaked at No. 38 on the UK Singles Chart, but a re-release in 2000 containing new mixes (following the success of Cole's second single " Crazy Love") proved even more successful, peaking at No. 13. It also reached No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. Two orchestral versions were recorded for two UK garage cover albums; the first in 2018 by the House & Garage Orchestra (featuring Camden Cox on vocals) for the album ''Garage Classics'' and the other in 2019 by DJ Spoony together with Katie Chatburn and the Ignition Orchestra (featuring Hamzaa) for ''Garage Classical''. Impact and legacy In November 2016, UK duo Gorgon City compiled a list of their top UK garage songs for ''Billboard'', with "Sincere" at #10. MJ Cole
Matthew James Firth Coleman, better known by his stage name MJ Cole, is an English garage DJ, record producer and remixer. Career Born in London, England, in his youth, Cole was classically trained on the oboe and piano, and won scholarships to both the Royal College of Music Junior Department and City of London School. Having graduated from City University, Cole began working at the drum and bass label SOUR, as a tape operator and sound engineer to the likes of Freq Nasty and Ed Rush. It was working on Ramsey & Fen's 2-step remixes for Kym Mazelle, however, that gave him the garage bug. He was the trusted engineer and lead producer of tracks on the UK garage label V.I.P. (Very Important Plastic) between 1997-1999 and a pirate radio DJ on London Underground FM, alongside the likes of the Dreem Teem. Wookie (musician)
Jason Chue, better known as Wookie, is a UK garage musician. He scored a UK top 10 hit in 2000 with his song "Battle (song), Battle". Biography Chue's career began in 1991 as a producer for UK R&B/reggae artist Wayne Marshall (singer), Wayne Marshall, producing most of Marshall's debut album ''90 Degrees and Rising'' in 1994. Shortly after, Chue became writer/producer for Soul II Soul at their studio, working with Jazzie B for several years. He would also go on to produce for Dynamite MC and Doom Man. Chue has remixed tracks by Destiny's Child, Public Enemy (group), Public Enemy and Nas, among others. In the late 1990s, the 'Wookie sound' became apparent in his Bootleg recording, bootleg mixes of songs by Whitney Houston, Brandy Norwood, Brandy and Debelah Morgan. Jazzanova
Alexander Barck, Zelt Musik Festival 2015 in Freiburg, Germany Jazzanova is a German Berlin-based DJ/producer collective consisting of Alexander Barck, Claas Brieler, Jürgen von Knoblauch, Roskow Kretschmann, Stefan Leisering, and Axel Reinemer. Formed in 1995, the group's music is characterized by nu jazz, chill-out, as well as Latin jazz styles. They founded the record label Sonar Kollektiv in 1997. Black Science Orchestra was a musical project headed chiefly by the British DJ and producer Ashley Beedle, which produced a number of disco and rare groove-inspired house records in the 1990s.
