Silambattam (film)
''Silambattam'' () is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by cinematographer-turned-director S. Saravanan, making his directorial debut. The film stars Silambarasan in dual roles while Sana Khan, Sneha and Prabhu play lead roles. Santhanam, Nedumudi Venu, Kishore, and Ponvannan play supporting roles with Premji Amaren in a special appearance. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's background score and soundtrack. The film released on 18 December 2008. Silambattam opened to mixed reviews but was a commercial hit running for 100 days. Plot Vichu is a quiet village priest brought up by his maternal grandfather. Owing to specific reasons, the caring elder has purposefully toned down the young boy's emotional quotient and has taught him a peculiar art of living. Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, nicknamed as Simbu or his initials S. T. R., is an Indian actor, filmmaker and musician in Tamil cinema. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father T. Rajendar, before his first lead role in ''Kadhal Azhivathillai'' (2002), under his father's direction and produced by his mother Usha. Early and personal life Silambarasan was born on 3 February 1984 in Thogarapalli, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, as the eldest child of T. Rajendar and Usha Rajendar. Lollu Sabha Balaji (1971 – 7 March 2014) was an Indian actor comedian who appeared in many Tamil films and television serials.
