Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, nicknamed as Simbu or his initials S. T. R., is an Indian actor, filmmaker and musician in Tamil cinema. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father T. Rajendar, before his first lead role in ''Kadhal Azhivathillai'' (2002), under his father's direction and produced by his mother Usha. Early and personal life Silambarasan was born on 3 February 1984 in Thogarapalli, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, as the eldest child of T. Rajendar and Usha Rajendar. He has a younger brother Kuralarasan, and sister Ilakiya. From early age, he has been a devout Hindu and an ardent follower of Lord Shiva. Silambarasan was educated at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai. He then studied at the Loyola College, Chennai. ''Manmadhan'' () (spelt onscreen as ''Maanmathaun'') is 2004 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language romantic thriller film directed and written by A. J. Murugan with dialogues by Balakumaran. ''Kadhal Azhivathillai'' () is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film written, directed and produced by T. Rajendar, who also composed the music and portrayed a supporting role as Vakkeel Dada. It stars his son Silambarasan (his debut as a lead actor) and Charmi. The movie released on 4 November 2002. Kuralarasan is an Indian actor and composer who works in Tamil-language films. He has collaborated with his father, T. Rajendar, and his brother, Silambarasan, in all his films to date.
