Sibel Redžep
Sibel Redžep ( tr, Sibel Recep, mk, Сибел Реџеп; born 12 December 1987) is a Macedonian-born Swedish pop singer. She is known from the Swedish television show '' Idol 2005'', where she was the second runner up. She was also a semi-finalist of ''Idol 2004'', where she placed fourth in her group but didn't make it to the finals. Before she joined the show she lived in Kristianstad, Sweden. Sibel speaks Swedish, Turkish, Macedonian, English, French and a little Chinese and German. She was also the background vocalist for the 2009 hit single " It's Alright, It's OK" by Ashley Tisdale. Early life She was born in Radoviš in the mountains of southeastern North Macedonia, then Yugoslavia, to an ethnic Macedonian Turkish family. Eurovision Song Contest 2008
The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Molitva" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. The three live shows were presented by Serbian television presenter Jovana Janković and musician Željko Joksimović. Forty-three countries participated in the contest, the highest ever number of participants in the contest beating the record of forty-two set the year before. Azerbaijan and San Marino participated for the first time, while Austria did not participate, mainly due to questions on the semi-final organisation as well as the politicization of the contest. "That Is Where I'll Go" is the debut single from singer Sibel Redžep. The song, written by Christian Antblad with strings from the Scandinavian Strings Orchestra, was Sibel Redžep's entry in Melodifestivalen 2008, the Swedish national contest which decides their Eurovision entry. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or ''ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. They were widely used across Europe, and later in Australia, North Africa, North America and South America. Melodifestivalen 2008 was the 47th Melodifestivalen, and the selection process for the 48th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. A new rule—''Lex Agnes''—went into effect in 2008 calling for each submitted entry to include a document containing all information relevant to the song. It was named after Agnes Carlsson, who was disqualified from the 2007 competition for publicly revealing details of her song before the deadline. Format Melodifestivalen 2008 included 32 songs split up into four heats with eight participants in each. The heats were held between 9 February and 1 March 2008 and at each, the two top placing songs went to the final, while the third and fourth place songs went to the Andra Chansen (Second Chance Round). Agnes Emilia Carlsson (born 6 March 1988), known mononymously as Agnes, is a Swedish recording artist. She rose to fame as the winner of Idol 2005, the second season of the Swedish Idol series. The second season of Swedish Idol premiered in August 2005 and continued until its grand finale on 2 December, when 17-year-old Agnes Carlsson from Vänersborg was crowned winner. Peter Swartling (born 18 November 1964) was one of the Swedish judges on the TV talent show ''Idol'' on TV4. He made it clear that he wouldn't participate in the fourth season of ''Idol'' due to him being forced to commute between Sweden and United States, where he currently lives. However, despite this, he remains to be a judge on the show. He is considered to be one of the most successful talent scouts and producers in Swedish music and is behind the breakthrough of artists like Robyn, Petter and Just D.
