Siargao
Siargao is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippine Sea situated 196 kilometers southeast of Tacloban. It has a land area of approximately . The east coast is relatively straight with one deep inlet, Port Pilar. The coastline is marked by a succession of reefs, small points and white, sandy beaches. The neighboring islands and islets have similar landforms. Siargao is known as the surfing capital of the Philippines, and was voted the Best Island in Asia in the 2021 Conde Nast Travelers Readers awards. The island is within the jurisdiction of the province of Surigao del Norte and is composed of the municipalities of Burgos, Dapa, Del Carmen, General Luna, San Benito, Pilar, San Isidro, and Santa Monica. Dapa, Surigao Del Norte
Dapa, officially the Municipality of Dapa ( Surigaonon: Lungsod nan Dapa; tl, Bayan ng Dapa), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 29,006 people. Geography Most of the municipality is situated on Siargao Island, but Middle Bucas Grande and East Bucas Grande Islands are also within its jurisdiction. Typhoon Rai, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Odette, was the second costliest typhoon in Philippine history behind Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Caraga, officially the Caraga Administrative Region (or simply known as Caraga Region) and designated as Region XIII, is an administrative region in the Philippines occupying the northeastern section of Mindanao. General Luna, officially the Municipality of General Luna ( Surigaonon: Lungsod nan General Luna; tl, Bayan ng Heneral Luna), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. The Bisayan languages or Visayan languages are a subgroup of the Austronesian languages spoken in the languages of the Philippines, Philippines.
