Shuangfeng County No. 1 High School
Shuangfeng County No. 1 High School (), commonly abbreviated as (Shuangfeng) Yizhong (), is a public coeducational high school in Shuangfeng County, Hunan, China. History The school traces its origins to the former Shuangfeng Academy (), founded by the local government in 1760 and would later become the Shuangfeng School in 1905. In 1905, under the order of Qing dynasty (1644–1911) Emperor Guangxu (1871–1908), the old academy was renamed Shuangfeng Higher School (). Peng Shiyi () was the first supervisor. In 1941, the school became a middle school. In March 1950, the school merged with Xiangxiang Second Girls' Vocational School () to form the Xiangxiang County Second Meddle School (). Shuangfeng County () is a county in Hunan Province, China, it is under the administration of Loudi prefecture-level City. Located on the east central part of the province, it is adjacent to the southeast of the city proper of Loudi. Cai Chang (; 14 May 1900 – 11 September 1990) was a Chinese politician and women's rights activist who was the first chair of the All-China Women's Federation, a Chinese women's rights organization. Early life Cai Chang was born in 1900 to a lower middle class family in China. Her mother left her husband, and enabled her children to attend school by selling her belongings. Cai believed strongly in women's education, and spurned the idea of marriage in favor of a vow of celibacy. Her mother aided her in this by avoiding an arranged marriage for Cai. Cai Hesen (March 30, 1895 – August 4, 1931) was an early leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and a friend and comrade of Mao Zedong. Cai was born in Shanghai but grew up in Shuangfeng County in Hunan Province of China. He helped Mao organize the Changsha ''New People's Study Society''. In 1919 he went to France on the Work-Study program, and his letters of advocacy were important in convincing Mao of the Bolshevik revolutionary approach. On his return to China, he was an important leader and organizer for the young Communist Party, spent several years in Moscow, and returned to China again in 1931.
