Shu Kurata
is a Japanese international football player currently playing for Gamba Osaka in the J1 League. His regular playing position is an attacking midfielder or a winger. Club career A native of Osaka, Kurata came up through the youth team ranks at Gamba Osaka and made his way into the first-team squad ahead of the 2007 season. Owing to his tender years, he played just 6 league matches in his debut season as a professional, but the following year he went on to make 21 appearances in all competitions as Gamba lifted the 2008 AFC Champions League and the 2008 Emperor's Cup. The Osaka giants retained their Emperor's Cup title in 2009, however Kurata only featured 4 times throughout the year as he struggled to break into their star-studded starting line-up. Vahid Halilhodžić
Vahid Halilhodžić (; born 15 October 1952) is a Bosnian professional football manager and former player. He is regarded as one of the most controversially successful Bosnian football managers, due to his successful tenure in coaching various national teams yet having problematic relations with his teams and players due to different approaches. Regarded as one of the best Yugoslav players, Halilhodžić had successful playing spells with Velež Mostar and French clubs Nantes and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 1987. The 2015 Japanese Super Cup was held on 28 February 2015 between the 2014 J.League champions Gamba Osaka and the 2014 J.League runner-up Urawa Red Diamonds. 2014 Gamba Osaka Season
The 2014 Gamba Osaka season was Gamba Osaka's 21st season in the J.League Division 1 and 27th overall in the Japanese top flight. It also included the 2014 J.League Cup and 2014 Emperor's Cup. The season was one of unparalleled success as it saw them win the treble with an incredible comeback in the second half of the league season which saw them crowned J.League champions following a 0-0 draw away to Tokushima Vortis in December. In addition they added both the J.League Cup and the Emperor's Cup to their trophy cabinet. 2013 Gamba Osaka Season
The 2013 Gamba Osaka season saw Gamba Osaka compete in J. League Division 2 following their shock relegation the previous year. As such they did not compete in the 2013 J. League Cup, but did participate in the 2013 Emperor's Cup in addition to their 2013 J. League Division 2 fixtures. Maintaining the bulk of the previous season's squad including Japanese internationals, captain Endō and defenders Akira Kaji and Yasuyuki Konno, Gamba were able to make their stay in J. League 2 a short one and were crowned champions in November 2013 following a season long title race with neighbours Vissel Kobe who had also been relegated along with Gamba the previous year.
