Shrugged is a comic series published by Aspen MLT, publishers of '' Soulfire'' and ''Fathom''. It was written by Aspen founder Michael Turner. Story The story follows a teenager named Theo, who possesses two entities in his life, Ange and Dev, who try to influence him at every decision. They both come from an alternate dimension called Perspecta, where a citizen from each "side" is assigned to a human being in our dimension. Angelia is Theo's representative from Elysia and Devonshire is the representative from Nefario, their character designs fitting the typical stereotypes of an "Angel" and a "Devil". Beth Sotelo
Beth Sotelo is an American comic book colorist working with Aspen MLT. Having started at Top Cow Productions in 2001, she has since worked at both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, two of the largest American comic publishers. Early life Sotelo grew up in Hesperia and San Gabriel, California. She began drawing at a young age, and took classes related to her interest in art whenever possible. Career Sotelo began her career as a colorist for Top Cow Productions in 2001. She was mentored by Peter Steigerwald. She continued to work mostly for Aspen Comics, but also did work for Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Among her Marvel works is the 2008 comic book '' Wolverine: Killing Made Simple''. She was the colorist on the ''All New Fathom'' and ''Shrugged'' comics series produced by Aspen MLT. She was also the colorist on ''Fathom'' volume 5 in 2016. Micah Gunnell
Micah Gunnell (born June 18, 1980) is an animation director, storyboard artist, and comic book artist who currently works for Dreamworks Animation in the United States. In addition to his work in comics, he has produced storyboards for several animated series, including Film Roman/Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man, Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers Assemble. He has also directed on Marvel's Avengers animated series, and is currently a director on DreamWorks' Fast and Furious: Spy Racers series which is available on Netflix. Aspen Comics (Aspen MLT Inc.) is a California entertainment company founded in 2003 by artist Michael Turner. It has locations in Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey. The company is best known for producing comic books and figurines. History The company was founded by comic book artist Michael Turner in January 2003. The name "Aspen" comes from the main character in Turner's comic series, '' Fathom''. Michael Layne Turner (April 21, 1971 – June 27, 2008) was an American comics artist known for his work on ''Witchblade'', '' Fathom'', ''Superman/Batman'', '' Soulfire'', and various covers for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. He was also the president of the entertainment company Aspen MLT. Early life Michael Turner was born in Crossville, Tennessee on April 21, 1971. He was a student at the University of Tennessee, and graduated from the International Performing Arts Academy after which he moved to San Diego, California, where he developed an interest in comics. Career Turner was discovered by Marc Silvestri at a convention and hired by Silvestri's Top Cow Productions as an artist. ''Soulfire'' is a comic book produced by Aspen MLT that is one in a line of titles created by Michael Turner. The original characters were created between 2000 and 2002 with ''Soulfire'' (originally named ''Dragonfly'') set to be produced under Top Cow, although that never came to be. Only when Michael Turner started his company, Aspen MLT, did the comic begin production in April 2003. Publication history The ''Soulfire'' 'preview' issue was first printed in '' Wizard'' magazine #139 in March 2003. The preview introduced the two central protagonists of the story, Malikai and Grace. ''Fathom'' is a comic book created by Michael Turner (comics), Michael Turner and originally published by Top Cow Productions. It debuted in 1998 and was Michael Turner's first creator-owned comic book series. ''Fathom'' is currently published by Turner's own company, Aspen Comics, Aspen MLT.
