''Shpritsz'' (the name derives from a colloquial German word for "syringe") is the second studio album by Dutch rock and roll and blues group Herman Brood & His Wild Romance. The album produced two singles. The first, "Rock & Roll Junkie," did not chart. The second, "Saturday Night," charted in Europe and the United States. On the Dutch album chart, the album reached No. 8 on 3 June 1978, and stayed on the chart for 28 weeks. It was certified gold in 1978, and platinum in 1980. ''Shpritsz'' was re-released on CD in 2000 by RCA/Ariola. In a 2008 poll by ''Muziekkrant OOR'', the leading Dutch music magazine, ''Shpritsz'' was voted the fourth-best Dutch album of all time. Herman Brood
Hermanus "Herman" Brood (; 5 November 1946 – 11 July 2001) was a Dutch musician, painter, actor and poet. As a musician he achieved artistic and commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s, and was called "the greatest and only Dutch rock 'n' roll star". Later in life he started a successful career as a painter. Known for his hedonistic lifestyle of "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll", Brood was an ''enfant terrible'' and a cultural figure whose suicide by jumping from a hotel roof, apparently influenced by a failure to kick his drug and alcohol habit, strengthened his controversial status; according to a poll organised to celebrate fifty years of Dutch popular music, it was the most significant event in its history. ''Street'' is the first studio album by Dutch rock and roll and blues group Herman Brood & His Wild Romance, and the start of a solo career for Herman Brood, who had earlier toured and recorded with Cuby and the Blizzards and made one record with the short-lived band Stud. Commercially, it was not very successful: on the Dutch album chart, it reached #30 on 28 May 1977 and stayed on the chart for 7 weeks. The record was re-released on CD in 1995 by Sony BMG/Ariola. ''Cha Cha'' is the first live album by Dutch rock and roll and blues group Herman Brood & His Wild Romance. The album produced one single, "Still Believe." On the Dutch album chart, the album reached #2 on 13 January 1979, and stayed on the chart for 18 weeks. The album was certified gold in 1979. '' Cha Cha'' is also the name of a movie filmed in 1979 with Herman Brood, Nina Hagen, and Lene Lovich, whose soundtrack was released separately on LP, also called '' Cha Cha''. In the movie, he marries Nina Hagen; in reality they had a brief affair. ''Cha Cha'' was re-released on CD in 1991 by Sony BMG/Ariola. Otis Redding
Otis Ray Redding Jr. (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American singer and songwriter. He is considered one of the greatest singers in the history of American popular music and a seminal artist in soul music and rhythm and blues. Nicknamed the " King of Soul", Redding's style of singing gained inspiration from the gospel music that preceded the genre. His singing style influenced many other soul artists of the 1960s. Redding was born in Dawson, Georgia, and at age two, moved to Macon. Redding quit school at age 15 to support his family, working with Little Richard's backing band, the Upsetters, and by performing in talent shows at the historic Douglass Theatre in Macon. In 1958, he joined Johnny Jenkins's band, the Pinetoppers, with whom he toured the Southern states as a singer and driver. Robert Jan Stips
Robert Jan Stips is a Dutch musician born in The Hague, 4 February 1950. He initially found fame as a keyboard player, arranger, and producer with the group Supersister. This led to an invitation to join Golden Earring, one of the most successful Dutch groups of the time. In 1975, Stips appeared on the group's follow-up to their smash hit ''Moontan'' (including their international hit, "Radar Love"). Entitled ''Switch'', this follow-up album featured Stips' playing throughout. In 1976, Stips appeared as a full-fledged band member on '' To the Hilt''. This album would prove to be his last full effort with the group. Stips also took part in the group's successful American tour in 1976, but left afterwards to form Stars & Stips which released ''Nevergreens'' in 1976, and the group Sweet d'Buster with fellow intermittent Golden Earring bandmember, saxophonist Bertus Borgers. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. ''OOR'' is the oldest currently published music magazine in the Netherlands. ''Oor'' is the Dutch word for ear. Until 1984 it was published as ''Muziekkrant Oor''. History The magazine was first published on 1 April 1971, being founded by Barend Toet. Dany Lademacher (born Daniël Germain Jean Lademacher, also Danny; 17 June 1950) is a Belgian guitar player. Born in Etterbeek, he played in a number of Belgian bands before joining prominent Dutch band Herman Brood and his Wild Romance. He was also a studio and live guitarist for a variety of artists, including T.U.S.H., Gerritsen & Van Dijk and I Travel. Kleptomania Founded in 1968 by Charlie Deraedemaeker (bass), Francis Goya (guitar) and singer Lou Deprijck, Kleptomania was a cult Belgian rock band which underwent several line up changes, Lademacher joining in 1969 and being voted best guitarist in Belgium three years running. Hilvarenbeek () is a municipality and a town in the south of the Netherlands, along the border with Belgium.
