Shizunai Stallion Station
Shizunai Stallion Station is a Japanese Thoroughbred horse farm was opened in 1963 and is located on the island of Hokkaidō. Operated by the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association (JBBA), it is located in Shizunai whose sister city is Lexington, Kentucky. Shizunai Stallion Station stables 15 stallions and plays a central role in the stallion operations of JBBA. The site features a clinic, an insemination facility, paddocks, stables, a research centre and an indoor riding arena. In 2006 an export quarantine facility was established to hold Japanese-bred horses in quarantine before they are exported to Australasia, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Tabasco Cat (April 15, 1991 – March 6, 2004) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was best known for his performances in 1994 when he won the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes, the second and third legs of the Triple Crown Series. Charismatic (horse)
Charismatic (March 13, 1996 – February 19, 2017) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the first two legs of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing in 1999. Early in his career, Charismatic was entered in claiming races but he improved rapidly during his three-year-old year. After winning the 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, Charismatic had the lead in the stretch of the Belmont Stakes before suddenly falling back and finishing third. He was quickly pulled up by jockey Chris Antley, who dismounted and cradled the horse's fractured foreleg to prevent further injury. The aftermath of the Belmont was later named the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Moment of the Year. Charismatic never raced again, but was still voted 1999 Horse of the Year. Opera House (February 24, 1988 – April 20, 2016) was a British thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a racing career which lasted from October 1990 until November 1993 he ran eighteen times and won eight races. Opera House was best known for his performances as a five-year-old in 1993, when he won three Group One races, including the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and was named European Champion Older Horse. Background Forty Niner was sired by Champion sire Mr. Prospector out of the mare File. He was bred and raced by Claiborne Farm. Racing career Forty Niner was the U.S. Champion colt at age two after major wins in the Champagne Stakes, Belmont Futurity Stakes and Breeders' Futurity Stakes. Forty Niner was one of the Winterbook betting favorites to win the 1988 Kentucky Derby.
