Iburi Stallion Station
The Japan Bloodhorse Breeding Association ( ja, 日本軽種馬協会, or ) is a public company established to manage the racehorse breeding industry in Japan. It was founded in 1946 as the Thoroughbred Corporation Association, and was renamed to the Thoroughbred Breeding Agricultural Union in 1948 before being renamed to the current name in 1955. The JBBA offers many programs to help small-time thoroughbred breeders around the country. The stallions that they offer are often subsidized so that every breeder has an opportunity to breed to top stallions. Silver Charm (foaled February 22, 1994) is a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1997 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and 1998 Dubai World Cup (all of which he is the oldest surviving winner). He stood at stud in both America and Japan and is now retired at Old Friends Farm in Kentucky. Upon the death of Hansel, Silver Charm became the oldest living winner of the Preakness Stakes; upon the death of Grindstone, he also became the oldest living winner of the Kentucky Derby. Boston Harbor (April 4, 1994 – March 9, 2021) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. Bred by William T. Young's Overbrook Farm near Lexington, Boston Harbor was a son of Capote who won the 1996 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and was voted that year's U.S. Champion 2-Yr-Old Colt. Trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Boston Harbor had a spectacular two-year-old season in which he won six times and finished second once in his seven starts. That year, his sweep of four Kentucky stakes races earned the colt an extra million dollars in bonus money.
