Kanpur Dehat district is a district in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. The administrative headquarters of the district are at Mati- Akbarpur. This district is part of Kanpur division. Kanpur was formerly spelled Cawnpore. History The site of the Battle of Madarpur, fought between the Bhumihar zamindars and the Mughal Empire in 1528CE took place within the present-day Kanpur Dehat district.
