Shenyang Conservatory of Music (Chinese: 沈阳音乐学院) is a music college in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. It is one of nine major conservatories in China. Established in 1938, the school serves approximately 8,000 students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. History The school was founded in 1938 as Luxun Academy of Arts () by Communist Party of China leaders, including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, Lin Boch, Xu Teli, Cheng Fangwu, Ai Siqi, Zhou Yang and other older generations of proletarian revolutionaries in the town of Yan'an, Shaanxi province. The school moved to Shenyang and was renamed the Northeast Lu Xun College of Literature and Art at the end of 1948. Chinese musicology is the academic study of traditional Chinese music. This discipline has a very long history. Traditional Chinese music can be traced back to around 8,000 years ago during the Neolithic age. Liaoning
Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region. With its capital at Shenyang, it is located on the northern shore of the Yellow Sea, and is the northernmost coastal province of the People's Republic of China.
