Shazam (wizard)
Shazam (), often referred as simple The Wizard, is is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by both Fawcett Comics and DC Comics. He is not to be confused with his champion Shazam/Captain Marvel, the former bestowing powers on the latter as detailed in the 1940s Whiz Comics. Originally, Shazam was a powerful wizard whose original name was Jebediah, originating from Canaan and was bestowed the powers of gods based upon a fictional depiction of Canaanite religion. Referred to simply as The Champion, he protected the world as one of Earth's first heroes and was the Keeper of the Rock of Eternity until he grew old and began looking of a successor. Alex Ross
Nelson Alexander Ross (born January 22, 1970) is an American comic book writer and artist known primarily for his painted interiors, covers, and design work. He first became known with the 1994 miniseries ''Marvels'', on which he collaborated with writer Kurt Busiek for Marvel Comics. He has since done a variety of projects for both Marvel and DC Comics, such as the 1996 miniseries '' Kingdom Come'', which Ross co-wrote. Since then he has done covers and character designs for Busiek's series ''Astro City'', and various projects for Dynamite Entertainment. Captain Marvel Jr. (Frederick "Freddy" Freeman) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. A member of the Marvel/Shazam Family team of superheroes associated with Captain Marvel/Shazam, he was created by Ed Herron, C.C. Beck, and Mac Raboy, and first appeared in ''Whiz Comics'' #25 in December 1941.
