Shatin To Central Link
The Sha Tin to Central Link (abbreviated SCL; ) is an extension of the MTR rapid transit network. It is divided into two sections. The first section, named "Tuen Ma line (Phase 1)”, runs from Tai Wai station in the New Territories to Hung Hom station in Kowloon. The Tai Wai–Hung Hom segment connected the Ma On Shan line and West Rail line, forming the new Tuen Ma line. Operation of the Tai Wai to Kai Tak section began on 14 February 2020. The opening of the section from Kai Tak to Hung Hom was delayed and opened on 27 June 2021. In anticipation of the Tuen Ma line, the existing Kwun Tong line was extended from its previous terminus at Yau Ma Tei to Whampoa station. This extension includes the new Ho Man Tin station to provide interchange with the Tuen Ma line. The Kwun Tong line extension was opened on 23 October 2016. MTR Hyundai Rotem EMU
The Hyundai Rotem EMU (also known as R-Train or 1141B) () is a current model of heavy rail electric multiple units used on the Mass Transit Railway in Hong Kong. The 9-car sets are manufactured by Hyundai Rotem for the North South Corridor, an extension of the East Rail line, at a cost of HK$4 billion. 37 trainsets were ordered in December 2012 and the first delivery took place in 2015, while a further 6 trains were ordered in May 2020. Originally scheduled to enter service in late-2017 to early-2018, the trains gradually entered service from 6 February 2021. Ho Man Tin Station
Ho Man Tin () is an underground MTR rapid transit station on the and the , located beneath Valley Road in Lo Lung Hang, as part of the Sha Tin to Central Link project. The station's lower platforms (serving Kwun Tong line trains) opened on 23 October 2016 along with Whampoa station as part of the Kwun Tong line extension, while the upper platforms of the opened on 27 June 2021. Whampoa () is the western terminus of the of the MTR in Hong Kong. It is located in Hung Hom, Kowloon City District within the developed area of Whampoa Garden immediately adjacent to the stern of '' The Whampoa'', a symbol of identity for the area and its history. The station was named after Whampoa Garden, which was built on the former site of Whampoa Dockyard. Yau Ma Tei, formerly named Waterloo after Waterloo Road, is an MTR station located in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. It is served by the and the . The station opened on 22 December 1979 and was renamed as Yau Ma Tei on 31 May 1985 along with Argyle (Mong Kok) and Chater (Central). Yau Ma Tei is an interchange station, even though the platforms are not designed for cross-platform interchange. Kwun Tong Line
The Kwun Tong line is a heavy-rail rapid transit line of the MTR network in Hong Kong, coloured green on the MTR map. Starting at Whampoa in Hung Hom and ending at Tiu Keng Leng in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung, the route has 17 stations and takes 35 minutes to complete. Kai Tak Airport was the international airport of Hong Kong from 1925 until 1998. Tai Wai () is an area in the New Territories, Hong Kong, located between Sha Tin and the Lion Rock, within the Sha Tin District. The Ma On Shan line () was a rapid transit line that formed part of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. Tai Wai station is an interchange station on the and the of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. The station is located in Tai Wai, Sha Tin District. History The station opened in a temporary location on 15 August 1983 as part of the greater electrification and double-tracking modernisation programme of the KCR. The original location was on Shing Chuen Road (成全路), north of the current station on the opposite side of the nullah. The permanent station opened at its present location on 23 April 1986.
