Whampoa Station
Whampoa () is the western terminus of the of the MTR in Hong Kong. It is located in Hung Hom, Kowloon City District within the developed area of Whampoa Garden immediately adjacent to the stern of '' The Whampoa'', a symbol of identity for the area and its history. The station was named after Whampoa Garden, which was built on the former site of Whampoa Dockyard. History Whampoa station was constructed under the HK$856 million Kwun Tong Line Extension Contract 1002, which was awarded in 2011 to a joint venture comprising Hong Kong contractors Chun Wo and Hip Hing Construction. This contract covered both the station as well as the overrun tunnel beyond it. The two station concourses were constructed using the cut-and-cover method, while the platform tunnel in between was built using the "drill-and-split" method. Hung Hom
Hung Hom () is an area in the southeast of Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong. Including the area of Whampoa, Tai Wan, Hok Yuen, Lo Lung Hang and No. 12 Hill are administratively part of the Kowloon City District, with a portion west of Hung Hom Bay in the Yau Tsim Mong District. Hung Hom serves mainly residential purposes, but it is mixed with some industrial buildings in the north. Geography Hung Hom is in the southeast of the Kowloon Peninsula. Ho Man Tin Station
Ho Man Tin () is an underground MTR rapid transit station on the and the , located beneath Valley Road in Lo Lung Hang, as part of the Sha Tin to Central Link project. The station's lower platforms (serving Kwun Tong line trains) opened on 23 October 2016 along with Whampoa station as part of the Kwun Tong line extension, while the upper platforms of the opened on 27 June 2021. Kwun Tong Line
The Kwun Tong line is a heavy-rail rapid transit line of the MTR network in Hong Kong, coloured green on the MTR map. Starting at Whampoa in Hung Hom and ending at Tiu Keng Leng in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung, the route has 17 stations and takes 35 minutes to complete. The Kwun Tong line is one of the busiest railway lines on the network connecting the central and the eastern portions of Kowloon via Wong Tai Sin. The line is mostly underground, but includes a lengthy elevated section, and runs generally in an east-west direction. Hung Hom Ferry Pier () is a ferry pier in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is at the reclaimed Hung Hom Bay at the south of Lily Mansion (Phase 9), Whampoa Garden. History The original pier, opened in 1979 using Streamline Moderne design from the Star Ferry terminals at Central and Tsim Sha Tsui, was located near the Hung Hom Station, close to the current position of Metropolis Tower. In 1988, the pier was temporarily relocated to the seaside of Hunghom Bay Centre to cope with Hung Hom Bay Reclamation Project.
